As the other reviews say, this really is a perfect plact to stay! Richard could not have done enough for us - the room was brilliant (we were looking inland but was still lovely), and the bed was just the most comfortable in the world! Breakfast is what ever you want at a time that suits you and we had 3 different breakfasts for our 3 night stay and all were superb. Richard knows so much about the local area and the Island as a whole it was incredible and his lovely dog pootles about and is just so friendly.||Thank you so much Richard - we had a brilliant short stay which was made all the more brilliant by you and your lovely home. And while I was there I ordered 2 of those little individual coffee/tea things and they'd arrived by the time we got home today (230824) - I so don't know how I've got to my age and not realised they even existed....||Thank you once again - Russ and I truly wish you every success

Our five nights stay in Ventnor Bay House, was easily one of the best and most memorable bnb stays my wife and I have ever enjoyed. We have extensively travelled Europe/The World, and this IOW experience is up there with the best of them.||The host: Richard is a kind, caring and thoughtful host, who wants his guests to have the best stay possible. He contacted us many times before our arrival suggesting trips out, recommending restaurants and offering to make reservations etc. His kind and unintrusive support continued throughout our stay.||The rooms: Richard has two rooms both extremely comfortable, decorated and very well equipped, for a home from home stay. The bed was large and very, very comfortable, with crisp bedding. Both rooms had period furnishings with good ensuites. The little touches were endless: a decanter with sherry, complementary drinks/beer in the fridge, a lemon drizzle cake under a cut glass cover, fresh coffee/a home blend of tea leaves/a good supply of tea bags, chocolate in the fridge, fresh daily milk with an alternative 'full' milk available...the list goes on. Richard insisted that if we needed anything else, "just ask".||The house/location: The property is part of an elegant Victorian terrace with the best view in Ventnor, facing out to sea. It is two roads from the town centre, yet perfectly silent, served by a gravel access and private parking. You feel a sense of stepping back in time, with modern comforts.||Breakfast: Richard loves cooking and looking after guests in equal measure. He creates bespoke dishes, as well as cooking a full range of traditional breakfasts. He makes his own Hollandaise sauce, squeezes fresh orange juice every morning and sources only the best local ingredients. Above all, breakfast is a time to chat, share, suggest and discuss about the day ahead or the restaurant/pub the previous night.||Ventnor: Is a perfect base to explore the IOW. Nowhere is no more than forty minutes away..Oscorne House, Cowes, Sandown, Shanklin, The Needles..all good day visits. There are also easy coastal walks to the East along to to Steephill and the Crabshack on the beach, or West to Bonchurch to visit the Norman church and the step back in time village, with a literary past. Venchuch itself is a small town with quirky, interesting, small shops..a taste of 1960s England. The working harbour and Esplanade, following the beach along to The Spyglass pub (Great food and craft beer) are a taste of days gone by.||Overall: our memories of Ventnor Bay House will stay with us for a long time, especially the warmth and kindness shared by Richard. And thank you for inviting us to join you and your friends, for a garden drink. Yes, we will be back. Many thanks Richard.||

A superb B&B set in a wonderful relaxing sea view setting. Richard is an amazing kind hearted host who will help you in any way he can. Beautiful room with excellent views and a lovely relaxing bed. Richard added extras in the room such as a bowl of fruit, cake, sherry and a fridge with small bottles of milk and soft drinks. This was all a wonderful surprise when we arrived. Richard makes the most perfect delicious breakfasts and his cooking is excellent. I highly recommend staying here and my husband and I cannot wait to return for future holidays.

We stayed at Ventnor Bay House for 2 nights in March of 2022 and it really is a wonderful place to stay. Richard is a very attentive and accommodating host. Upon finding out we were vegan he went out, bought produce and cooked us an amazing breakfast.
The room is spacious and clean, the bed is so comfortable it was like sleeping on a cloud and you can not beat the view out of the window when you wake up. (We stayed in the Seaview room).
Ventnor bay house is an absolute gem and we would recommend it to anyone staying in Ventnor.

We stayed for 2 nights in May after visiting Osborne House. I endorse previous reviews. The location is perfect for the sea view, access to the coastal walk and just minutes into town where there is plenty of choices to eat. Richard is a great host: accommodating, informative and knowledgable. The rooms are on the 2nd floor accessible by grand stairs. Nice touches with sherry, cake, sweets, drinks in the fridge and tea/coffee. Richard arranged breakfast to our preferences including homemade Bircher muesli. Access to the property is slightly obscure through what looks like a police car park. IoW is surprisingly hilly in the east and south and Ventnor is essentially built on a cliff. We will be back!

Our 5 night stay in June exceeded expectations. We had a beautiful room and were delighted at all the little extras provided. The room had a wonderful sea view and was large and airy and very comfortable. Richard could not do enough to ensure our stay was perfect from start to finish and his breakfasts were to die for. We will definitely go back.

A three night stay in this lovely B&B run by Richard, probably the most engaging & amiable host we have had the pleasure to meet, it really felt like we were welcomed into his home.||Lovely big, bright room at the top of some stairs - the sea view is a gorgeous outlook. There are lots of nice touches in the room on arrival that make it that bit more welcoming. Its this level of detail that make places like this stand out.||||The bathroom is of a modest size but is perfectly functional, the bed was super comfy. ||Parking is outside the property - a little tricky to find the first time but safe & secure - its a quiet area overall but close to town for some nice eats.||The host had plenty of tips on the best places and was very knowledgeable on the area.Nothing was too much trouble and we appreciated his efforts to make it a memorable stay.
