We had a really nice stay with Joan and Chris,who made us feel very welcome. nothing was to much trouble. The room was very spacious and comfortable and so peaceful.The breakfast was excellent and set you up nicely for the day. It is in a good position for walking round Old Shanklin and very handy for the local transport.

We recently enjoyed a four night stay at Haynes Barton. We were kindly welcomed by hosts Joan and Chris. Joan showed us to our room which was excellent, well appointed and immaculately clean. We enjoyed the pleasant garden and the exceptionally good breakfast. |The hotel is ideally situated in a quiet area within a few minutes walk to the main centre of Old Shanklin with its pubs and restaurants. |There is a large and attractive recreation ground within a few hundred yards of the hotel that we found ideal for running our dog. There is also a children’s play area and a duck pond. |This has to be one of the best places we have stayed and we would definitely stay there again the next time we visit the Isle of Wight.

Hayes Barton is the most friendly place to stay. The couple who run it, Joan and Chris, are very welcoming and nothing is to much trouble for them. The breakfast is delicious with the best scrambled egg in England. I am gluten free and felt safe eating. The whole place is wonderfully clean and well presented. We will definitely be visiting again

The B & B has not changed much since it no longer does evening meals, it certainly has retained it's top class standards and superb breakfasts, the rooms are clean and airy, the location is also excellent as it is close enough to the town and beach to be a short walk but far away enough to be quiet and peaceful and the garden certainly a nice place to have that cuppa that was offered on arrival to chill and know you have arrived. Shanklin has a good range of eateries that should please most and a really good bus service for the island. It is a place my wife and I have been many times and may there be many more. The owners are really good friendly, informative and sorted out the crossing at a decent price couldn't ask for better.

Have always enjoyed our stays at Hayes Barton. Joan and Chris are such excellent hosts. The food is excellent - home cooked and a great breakfast selection each morning. We cannot fault anything. Would highly recommend this place for a quiet relaxing stay within easy walking distance (if you don't mind hills) of the sea front.
