Staff were very friendly and helpful.

The rooms leaving something to be desired, not a bad size, just not overly clean. Found a few stray hairs in the bathroom. And quite a few marks on the carpets in the corridors.

Its worth paying the extra and just going to a Premier Inn.

Hello. Just to clarify my circumstances, I have just left the hospital after staying there for 3 1/2 months. Unfortunately I'm too unwell for family to look after me, I know am classed as homeless and have carers. No sympathy needed.||When coming out of hospital I was put in the travelodge in Chelmsford. During my 3 week stay in this travelodge, I have witnessed the manager get in a guests face shouting, are you treating me, when going down the lift I heard him laugh to his staff about that person. Fair enough that person shouldn't of been there but never treated that way. When my carers came, I didn't answer the door as I was in a lot of pain, when the carers came in, they told me that someone at the front desk said I might of soiled myself. Completely unprofessional, if I had I would need the door open. I addressed this to the manager and he wasn't keen on my comments. I believe it to be him as I know he was working during this time. I had asked one of my new carers to go to the front desk and see if I could have my breakfast made fresh as the last meal I has was very dry and the eggs were soggy. I also found a hair in the plate but I didn't want to address this due to the stress. While my carer was asking him, he started shouting at my carer. I asked him to leave. Shortly after I had a room clean but I noticed my bathroom floor wasn't cleaned, as I had a milkshake spill near the sink. When getting out the shower I twisted my leg and fell. I called the manager to let him know what happened and he started raising his voice, telling me I'm making accusations against his staff. I had felt completely uncomfortable staying there, unfortunately during my stay my vehicle was struck in a hit and run and I also had fraud on my account. I can't get the correct pain medication until I'm in a permanent occupation. This all caused me alot of stress but I would never take it out on other people. ||2 other members of staff, Debbie and her colleague were also very rude to me. Many times when the council hadn't renewed the stay, they would bang on my door before 8 telling me I need to pack my stuff and get out. I explained the council doesn't open until after 9. The managers name is jeff, I am worried how this travelodge has been run. I am know staying at another travelodge, they asked me to complete a form for security, there are notices on the walls in the shower and the beds are locked together so I don't fall. ||I would like to thank some members of staff at that travelodge, Soulmaz, Hope, Sophie, Msimansi, Ian and the other Indian members of staff. Really made me feel secure whilst I was breaking down. I have been to this travelodge before lockdown and I'm sure Sophie was working during this time. I highly recommend she has a management status. High respect to those members of staff, please note I wish no hate on anyone, but from how I had been dealt with, these issues needed to be addressed.

If you accept the fact this is a bog standard travel lodge then you will have a great night! The rooms are basic; the bed, however, is comfy, good power on the shower, and the window opens enough to get a good breeze. I can't fault it, lots of the reviews I am seeing are marking it down, clearly think they booked the ritz! Plus the price £50 for the night is not bad considering other hotel prices in the area.

I had an extremely disappointing experience at Travelodge Chelmsford. Upon arrival, we were handed a key that didn’t work, and we were asked to change rooms immediately. The first room we were given had obvious cleanliness issues – hair and stains were all over the bed, and the bathroom reeked with an unbearable odor accompanied by a noticeable stain on the floor.

After reporting the issue, we were switched to a second room, which sadly did not improve matters. The bathroom had no basic amenities like shampoo or conditioner, and there was hair in the drain. By the time we received our third room, our frustration had reached its peak – the bed was subpar and uncomfortable, and the overall condition of the rooms was unacceptable.

I left the hotel feeling utterly fed up with how little care was taken to ensure a clean and comfortable stay. I cannot recommend this property if you are looking for a pleasant and hygienic experience.

Room was very basic but clean, could have done with a set of drawers. Only reason for 4 stars was heating settings. Goes off whilst I slept and woke up cold. Jeff was super helpful and second night had additional duvet. Great customer service!

Great location.. there's also parking available at the hotel ,and hotel. Rooms are good and the beds are really comfortable. The staff are really friendly and the manager is very helpful with any disputes. Will be staying there again 100%.

Perfectly located. Very affordable (if booked ahead) and very neat rooms and bathrooms! I’ll definitely visit again. I had no negative experience whatsoever!
