As a regular hotel guest across the IHG brands, I have had the opportunity to experience numerous IHG hotels, and I can confirm that this hotel environment, facilities and outlook is excellent. The room looked recently decorated, modern and comfortable, with good choice of breakfast selection. The leisure facilities were also excellent. Whilst I will score the hotel facilities with an excellent high rating (5 Stars), unfortunately, I will score the staffs very very low, and in my view, they need to be upskilled in their welcoming of guests and knowledge of the hotel.

Firstly, when I called prior to arrival to request for connecting rooms, I was told by the hotel reception that I spoke to on the phone, that the hotel does not have connecting rooms, but they will put my rooms next to each other. Whilst the 2 rooms we were allocated were sequential in numbers, they were not next to each other. This indicates that staff either lied, or not conversant with the hotel rooms layout, as we later found out that the hotel indeed does have connecting rooms for families but has been allocated to other families.

Secondly, I found the Staffs looking too serious with less welcoming smile. This was evident in the breakfast staffs, some of the reception staffs, and the cleaners I encountered.

As a hospitality industry, a welcoming smile is extremely important as it serves as a non-verbal cue to convey welcome, and positive attitude, in order to instantly create warmth and a positive first impression for guests, making them feel valued which can significantly impact their overall experience and loyalty to the brand.

However, Erni (reception staff), was excellent in her welcoming and smile, and I mentioned to her when I checked out, that she needs to teach her colleagues on how to welcome guests with atleast a smile!

Stayed a couple of nights over the weekend, |As my partners a diamond elite member we had a few perks. Free breakfast etc. arrived at the room to find it roasting hot in there as house keeping turns the heating up past 22! |Managed to cool room down and slept reasonably ok even though I always struggle with some reaction to the bedding stuffy nose etc. breakfast on the first day very short staffed ended up after waiting to be seated we made our own way to a table. Still an hour of service no eggs and limited bacon but at least some. Didn’t have a coffee as my cup was filthy and a crack through it. ||Second night sleep was comfortable but warm again. Breakfast was busy and better stocked although after picking up my fork I found it had been used and very dried on food on it. Lots of kids running around but that’s not the hotels problem it was the other guests. Booked a late check out so we could relax before heading out to a family party later that day. Room service knocked the door three times after 11am, final time the male domestic assistant put his foot in the door and tutted when we told him we had a late check out(2pm). ||Sleep ok but housekeeping and restaurant needs to improve.

We only stayed for one night. The staff were friendly and helpful. We asked at the desk when we first arrived the best way to Villa park and the young gentleman advised us to take the train.
The room was clean and airy. It was very quiet at night and had a good night sleep.
The pool was open at 7:30am so enjoyed early swim I had pool and sauna to myself.
Breakfast you have plenty to choose from and was very tasty.
Overall it was a lovely stay and would be happy to stay again when my son is playing at Villa Park again.

A friendly welcome and c earful staff. Our stay was great situation for our needs. The hotel is in need of renovation in places and is in a process of doing this. The decor on the rooms are a little tired and carpets are somewhat stained. We do like this hotel and will stay again. I am unsure that we miss out on loyalty points with IHG as we made the booking through a third party.

The staff, the cleanliness, the child-friendly environment, the design of the hotel, everything was a 10/10 for us. This was a very morose visit as my husband's grandmother passed away so we came to stay in the area to visit their grandfather. However, I became ill as soon as I arrived and was bed bound. The staff in the hotel were extremely accommodating and kind, creating a very pleasant atmosphere. My husband and baby enjoyed their breakfast immensely, and we look forward to staying here for all future visits to the area.

Although easily seen from the M5 it is not so straight forward to get to but it is well worth the effort. The staff from check in, bar staff, restaurant and spa are all a credit to this lovely hotel. The food was of high quality for both evening meal as well as at breakfast with numerous options. The layout in the main guest areas is really homely so I would very much like o recommend this hotel and will be staying again when passing again.

Had a great stay at the hotel. Breakfast was good and staff provided an excellent service. Kids enjoyed their stay in the suite which was really spacious and the swimming pool. A big thank you to Enika at the reception who has been really helpful at all times and made our stay stress free.

I recently attended a Christmas party here and the experience from start to finish was absolutely fantastic. The hotel looks great after its recent refurbishment, the party was brilliant and it was all topped off by a great breakfast before leaving. The food on the evening was also great, served hot and tasted lovely which is always difficult when serving such a large number at one time. Mandy the Gm was a pleasure to deal with and Saranne, Josh, Greg and the rest of the team were all working so hard to ensure everyone had a great time. Keep up the good work guys.
