A friend and I enjoyed a fabulous stay here on a walking holiday in the Wye Valley. This is a beautiful old house, but with modern plumbing, showers and heating. Guy and Sheila are the most considerate hosts and the cooked breakfasts and teas with home-made cakes are to die for. A magnificent place to stay.

Our fourth visit, as enjoyable as the previous three. As always, a warm welcome; a different room this time, but just as charming, with a comfortable bed, a jar of delicious home-made flapjacks, and a very spacious bathroom (with the added attraction of watching the house martins swoop in under the eaves right outside the window); disappearing into the comfy huge sofas in the lounge; and of course, great breakfasts.

What a lovely place! And how well Guy and Sheila have refurbished it, and how warmly they welcome their guests! Lower Wythall suited our family perfectly, and we all enjoyed the magic ambience. Everything possible was provided for the comfort of guests, and the lavish breakfasts made the stay even better. We'll definitely be back whenever we need to stay in the area.

Photos and the written word can only go so far as neither can really convey how special Lower Wythall really is thanks to Guy and Sheila. They have created the most tranquil home, a prefect place to rest and relax. |The beds were fabulous, and the breakfast was excellent. We loved the homemade bread and jam, coffee with warm milk, and their attentiveness to our food allergies. It was a joy to meet them both, and learn about their amazing home.

We stayed five nights at Lower Wythall and it couldn't have been a better decision. The house is a beautiful fine example of the โ€œblack and white housesโ€, so popular in Herefordshire, the gardens and surroundings are stunningly beautiful, our room was very comfortable and quiet, and breakfasts hearty and delicious, including homemade breads and marmalades. The owners, a lovely couple, pay great attention to detail and made sure our needs were totally met. They gave us very useful information about nearby sites off of the beaten track, not that the area was very busy during our time there, but we were looking for not so popular sightings. The place is a few miles away from Ross.

Guy and Sheila were very friendly and attentive hosts. Sheila's attention to detail is second to none! Our room was well decorated and very comfortable with a king size bed, power shower and bath with plentiful hot water. We particularly liked the downstairs sitting room with large squashy sofas and wood burner where we could retire to and warm up after returning from dinner at one of the many restaurants in nearby Ross on Wye. Sheila even brought us freshly cooked Apple Cake after our dinner as we'd missed out on tea earlier! Breakfasts were delicious and cooked by Guy who was as cheerful as Sheila. I opted for a comprehensive fruit salad and yogurt, followed by perfectly cooked eggs, mushrooms, bacon and homemade bread. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this B&B in a lovely area close to Symond's Yat and Goodrich Castle.
