We were in a day trip to Arundel and had just visited the Cathedral. The pub is right opposite and off the beaten track so we were able to get a seat in the sunny courtyard. |Service was excellent and we discovered the pub had only reopens two weeks before after a refurb. |V smart decor inside and good looking bar area.|We ordered ‘Fish finger sandwiches’ and a half of cider each. These were way more than your Birds Eye fish fingers. A proper large piece of battered white fish inside a nice bun with coleslaw and fresh lettuce. Absolutely delicious.|Would have been 5 star but the hand drier was not working in the gents. |Good luck to the team. Worth a visit.

We had a lovely lunchtime meal on Friday 4th April 2025. The food was extremely delicious and presented well on the plates. Very friendly staff and we love the pub decor. I would come back to Arundel just to go to this pub! Thanks so much.

I have stayed at St Mary's Gate Inn twice now, and I cannot fault it, overall.

The premises is situated directly next to Arundel Cathedral and Castle, meaning that it is steeped in History.

The rooms are five star material, in my opinion.
At the time of writing, they have been recently renovated and it absolutely shows.
The beds/bathroom facilities are immaculate, comfortable and spotless clean.
For the price you pay, you really are receiving complete, ultimate luxury.
The tea/coffee making facilities in the rooms are the icing on the cake for me.
You receive plenty of both upon arrival, and the premises even offers you treats alongside them, which take the form of shortbread and chocolate cookie, at the time of writing.

Thank you for a pleasant stay this past Saturday night; I shall absolutely return again before long.

4 of us dropped in during the evening following a charity service at the nearby Cathedral. ||Drink were absolutely fine and we were told the kitchen was still open if we wanted to order food. ||A couple of us had the sharing platter. Which included inedible pigs in blankets and few other poorly cooked and presented items. Given the contents of this platter is seasonal I would expect it to quickly disappear from the menu something one ships be grateful for. ||Other friends ordered a seasonal sausage role which again was just about average nothing exciting.

A lovely place to stay. A warm welcome, friendly and helpful staff, comfortable rooms and great food. You felt part of the community and at home, not like a visitor - has a lively vibe. Well located for central Arundel, train service and some lovely walks.

Lovely stay with a very comfortable room. We had dinner and breakfast, both of which were excellent. Can recommend the fish and chips. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Highly recommend. Good location, ideal for seeing everything in Arundel.

Great warm & friendly welcome from Kerry, comfortable clean room. Breakfast cooked by Pete was excellent & his home made bread was delicious. Overall a lovely stay & we will definitely be back ☺️

Great lunch, good value for money. A warm and hospitable welcome, with attentive (but not intrusive) staff. Thwe Sunday Roast selectio was excellent - the beef was perfect, as was the lamb and the fish and chips. My guests were much impressed and delighted.
