Unfortunately a very confrontational owner/host meant we had the worst breakfast experience which in turn turned our restful weekend away into quite a different experience.
It all started when I asked where I could find an open store to buy plain bread rather than sourdough supplied with their continental breakfast. In which the host seemingly aggressively comment “oh so you want the super ultra processed food” and when I asked what the comment was about the host then proceeded to walk over to my wife carrying on at her about sliced bread.
Upon multiple attempts to settle the situation as I had informed him that my partner is 7 and a half months pregnant and the situation is becoming very stressful, the hosts passive aggressive comments continued to go on non-stop at every opportunity.
A real pity as it’s a nice establishment.

We had a lovely 1 night stay at the valley view farm. Marty pick up us at the bruton train station and drop off at the next day. Colleen cooks professional level homemade meals, dinner and breakfast are absolutely delicious! Colleen even baked a birthday cake and give us drinks for celebrating my birthday. All the extra service made the trip more convenient and enjoyable. The surrounding countryside view feels very relaxing and great for long walks. Super kids friendly! Thank you for the nice experience.

Lovely couple, Colleen and Mark, on their small farm with friendly dogs. We had pre-arranged a meal to be waiting for us when we arrived late, and it was tasty and warm (a type of shepherds pie) with a side of veg, some local cider, and a good lemon youghurt mousse. Not fancy, but very good food you would cook for your family. Nice breakfast in the morning and very helpful guidance on our activities the next day (outstanding gardens nearby as well as a very-highly rated gastropub, the 3 Horseshoes, just 1 km away).||Just what you want in a Somerset B&B! Thank you

We stayed here during our wedding weekend in September 2023 and it was truly outstanding!!! The first night was for the bridal party and we were spoilt with homemade food, wine on the patio and a delicious breakfast! We even extended the stay to 3 nights as it was such a special place to stay! I cannot recommend enough! Thank you, thank you for making our wedding weekend so memorable!

We cannot fault our lovely stay here. Colleen and Marty were the perfect hosts. So welcoming and friendly. Colleen is also a great cook. We would definitely recommend eating dinner at Valley View Farm. Breakfasts were delicious too. Comfortable beds and bedding, a nice hot shower, lovely farmhouse kitchen, a delightful terrace with relaxing furniture overlooking lush green scenery in a supremely peaceful environment. And super dog friendly as well. We couldn’t have wished for a nicer stay.

We had a wonderful stay with my husband and daughter! The farm is surrounded by beautiful and serene countryside, with a number of walks available in the area, as well as pubs, pretty villages and a variety of activities nearby. The rooms are very comfortable and cozy, tastefully decorated, very clean and well furnished. We chose to have dinner at the place and enjoyed a tasty, home cooked meal, ice cream and wine. The breakfast was lovely too, on a veranda overlooking the beautiful garden. The place is family friendly, with toys provided for kids to play with, baby feeding chair and cuttlery available as well. Colleen, thank you for a lovely stay!

Only stayed one night as we were attending a social event nearby but had a lovely stay. We had a very warm welcome, the room was cosy and the bed was comfortable. Although there aren’t facilities in the room for tea and coffee you are able to help yourself from the kitchen. Breakfast was continental with a wide selection of cereals, fresh fruit, breads etc. we will definitely want to stay again when we are in the area.
