We stayed as a family of three, 10 year old granddaughter, mum and Nanny. We stayed in a lodge which was in a lovely setting by the woods. The lodge was clean but the furniture was tired and bed uncomfortable. The kitchen had everything you needed, cooker, fridge/freezer/dishwasher. The bathrooms were huge, one with a bath. ||We were surprised to be offered a really good wheelchair accessible lodge with an amazing accessible bathroom. The furniture needed to be rearranged to allow a small wheelchair to move around the lodge, large wheelchairs would really struggle.||We choose this hotel as it boasts of a swimming pool. Sadly the pool temperature was only 27 which is too cold for anybody to enjoy other than a professional swimmer. The recommended temperature for leisure, young and disabled is approximately 30 degrees plus. We talked to the reception team who dismissed the recommendations of increasing the water temperature. It was sad that the hotel couldn’t find it in their hearts to raise the temperature for the February half term week as there was a lot of children staying. The pool was empty when we went.||We would stay again as the location is convenient but would not bother with the swimming pool unless it was a very hot summers day.

I hosted my birthday meal here for 20 guests, and stayed 2 nights. |What a fabulous time we had! ||We had a few issues with heating, but the staff did everything they could to fix the issues. All the staff were wonderful. Special thanks to Abbie who was my contact, all the kitchen staff, waiting staff and the grounds men/ maintenance duo who we had a lovely chat with on a frosty morning walk. |The food was excellent. Our room was upgraded, and there was even a birthday card for me! Such a lovely touch! Thank you to the whole team who made our stay so wonderful.

Very interesting and historical building and great for the golfers out there. Rooms are large but a bit old fashioned and the plumbing is a bit noisy! However, our shower was hot and copious! Dinner was a bit underwhelming, but breakfast was hearty and hot where you needed it!
Quirky hotel in lovely grounds, it's a listed building so you have to allow for that, but the staff were keen and engaging. I had a nice time.

We loved our stay in the woodland lodge. We only stayed for one night but wished we stayed for longer! The lodge was fully equipped with everything needed for 6 people. There was plenty of space and the beds were really comfy. |The reception staff were also really friendly and helpful at check in which is always a good start to a stay!

I had my wedding here a month ago and was blown away by the hospitality shown. Nothing was too much trouble and my husband and I were so looked after. The honeymoon suite was beautiful and all the guests have raved how fab the food was and how beautiful the day was. Thank you so much would definitely recommend as a venue for any event.

Absolutely beautiful hotel, rooms were clean and very nicely decorated.. The bed was so comfortable.. A real luxury room.. The dude on reception was very helpful and attentive.. There was only 2 other staff that we saw while staying, I feel they could do with learning more about the food and wines etc.. The food was OK.. Pudding was terrible 😣😣|This was the only slight let down of our stay.. We will definitely book again... 😎

We were a party of four. 2 of us stayed in the mansion and had the cut on twin room and our friends stayed in the lodge number 7 as they had a dog, although dogs are allowed in the mansion.
Our room was very spacious, clean and well equipped. The beds were lovely and comfortable. The room does have some issues with the windows. Only one opened and the other opening one was being held together with tape where it had broken away from the frame. It was not a problem in winter, but might be a problem on a hot day not being able to open both windows. BUT, we would forgive that for the incredible view from the vast window. The staff were incredibly helpful and I do believe if you don’t treat the staff as servants as some people did, you will get the best from them. They couldn’t have been more helpful. The menu is not vast but the evening meal was lovely for all of us. However, breakfast was a little disappointing. The buffet was good lots of choice, but the English breakfast was not good with overcooked bacon and sausages and undercooked scrambled eggs. Also PLEASE get a new toaster or provide a couple as the one you have is too slow. The room we had was comfortably warm but the main hall, although cosy by the fire was drafty. We have booked the same rooms for Christmas because we loved it a lot, and very good value for money. My comments not are not meant to criticise as we loved the whole thing. We just want to point out little things that certainly were not a dealbreaker in returning for another stay. We think it’s going to be magical at Christmas and can’t wait to return. THANK YOU.

We had the most amazing stay here over Xmas. We could not fault it the staff went over and above board to make us feel welcome. The room surpassed all our expectations and the food was wonderful.
Xmas day was made special by Father Christmas Visiting and making it all so special.
We cannot wait to return in the summer to see the grounds in all its splendour.
I cannot recommend this wonderful hotel highly enough.
