I honestly find it hard to write some of these reviews, but also believe feedback, if given in the right way is helpful and it's also only fair for others to know what things are really like. So here goes.....

The lady who greeted us, presumably her house, was just lovely. Very welcoming and really friendly. It would have been nice to discuss the contents of this review with her but on reading other reviews and knowing the hostility they faced, I didn't much fancy it, especially because it was 'meant' to be a special weekend with my daughter.

As above, greeting on check in and check out was really pleasant.

The room however, if I'd of had the choice or the money, or been able to get my money back, I would have left. I don't often feel that way, I'm pretty easy pleased, but the pictures advertised do not represent this place. In fact it was filthy. Please see pictures!!

One of the cups and saucers in the room was dirty, there were brown splashes on the wall around the toilet paper, there was brown 'stuff' under the toilet seat, loads of dust on lampshade, dust all over toilet roll holder, shower screen is filthy, wall paper coming off, and when I saw the plug hole whilst brushing my teeth, it made me urge!!!!

I'm sorry, but it shouldn't be allowed to be let out for people to stay in, in that state. I can cope with tired and needs some TLC but this was bad.

Your location is great! But for £10 more we could have stayed at the Duke of Cornwall. Boy, I wish we did!!!! Please have a deep clean. Not good at all.

Visiting Plymouth for the night and just needed a place to sleep and store my bag, and that is exactly what I got. Run by a lovely lady who was happy to help. price was great compared to other guest houses in the area, room was simple and comfy, close walk to town. 10/10 will use again for a cheap visit

Read the reviews. This came up in a filtered search for B&B’s en-suite with parking. Parking is on road where the owner provides a voucher at £8 a day. Although photos show a breakfast room and the photo of the sign outside says breakfast and en-suite no breakfast is served so with parking budget for an extra £20 per night, which takes this out of budget. The room had a shower but a shared toilet, not an experience I have seen for years. I have stayed in cleaner places and dirtier. Had no issue with the host but think she is past doing the full hotel experience..

Booked Citadel House because the location was perfect and the price was right.|Stayed here for six nights right in the middle of the plymouth uni graduation dates! All other B&B’s and most certainly the other hotels prices had gone up but not here.|Plenty of street parking , yes you need a parking ticket but you do anywhere in Plymouth.|About 8 mins walk to the city centre and about the same along the coastal path to the Barbican .|Had no problems with my room and no disturbance from other guests .|Great water pressure from the shower and bedding lovely and clean and smelt |so fresh.|Citadel House is room only as are many guest houses now but there are plenty of cafes serving breakfast ect near by.|Owner was a genuinely friendly and welcoming as was the house keep who asked regularly if I needed anything for the room.

We booked this bed bed and breakfast only to find out that, AFTER paying, no breakfast was available at all. The sign outside does say 'Bed and Breakfast'.
We were told to go and find it somewhere else. The website does say: 'A choice of breakfast including vegetarian options is included' - it couldn't be further away from the truth.
The whole house at one point smelled very strongly of some African/Asian cooking.
The room was very small. All outdated. Quite different than the pictures posted.
The fan in the shower was full of dust so we didn't shower afraid the dust would fall down with the damp from the hot water.
Also when we called the bell at 'reception' SIX times, no-one came to answer the questions we had.
Fortunately we only booked for 1 night.

Just don’t do it.|Cringe worthy, we would have gladly paid the cash and then went and found somewhere else. Unfortunately for us an extremely busy weekend for Plymouth due to all of the live music on the Hoe.|Im sure the owner is trying but there comes a time when it just doesn’t cut the mustard

Good location, reasonable walk to station which was what we needed, close to Plymouth Hoe. Comfortable, flat sceen TV, free effective wi-fi, en-suite ok. Plenty of coffee and tea for in-room hot drink facilities. |Very friendly owner. A good and reasonably priced stay, would book again.
