At Sampfort Manor you will get a truely romantic English countryside experience and it will take you back in time - parts of the house are more than 1000 years old! It is located in the west of Dartmoor National Park quite close to the next big road, so it's easy to get to (we were coming from Cornwall) and only the last few meters are on a narrow road. The house is a beautiful old farmhouse with lots of animals and a big garden to have a stroll. ||||The rooms and bathrooms are renovated and clean. Breakfast includes choices of cereals and full English or continental breakfast. There are no restaurants within walking distance, but you can have dinner at the Manor or ask the owners for restaurant recommendations. ||The next tourist office for the National park is just a short car ride away. ||||The owners are very nice and welcoming people. Our last day was Easter Sunday and when we were asking them for church service, they invited us to join them to go to the small church right next to the Manor with them. ||||Sampford Manor is the perfect place for a romantic weekend or as a base to explore Dartmoor National Park.
