What a fantastic hotel in a great location. We booked a travelzoo voucher for 2 nights that included dinner on the first night and breakfast both mornings. The hotel is a really interesting building with loads of great antique furniture and historical pictures in the communal areas.|The room was spacious, bed was comfortable but movement was easy to feel when either of us rolled over. The bathroom was adequate and the shower was the most powerful shower I have ever had in a hotel, that was very nice. The bathroom fans are noisy and all the fans nearby could be heard as deep pulsing in the room but this didn't disturb sleep at all.|All staff at the hotel were friendly. Housekeeping were very thorough and efficient.|The 3 course dinner was really good, I had pork belly and it was cooked very well. Breakfast first morning wasn't great as hash browns had been out for some time and had gone bendy but the fresh cook poached eggs and black pudding were great. The sausage was a good quality sausage. Breakfast on 2nd day was much better.|Check in and out was easy.|Free parking in designated car park was really useful and we didn't need to use the car at all as everything is closeby on foot. |Would definitely come back again should we need to be in the area.

My recent afternoon tea experience at the Bull Hotel in Peterborough was truly delightful. From the moment I stepped into the charming, historic building, I was greeted with warm hospitality and a welcoming atmosphere. The staff were incredibly attentive, ensuring we had everything we needed throughout our visit.
The afternoon tea itself was a feast for the eyes and the palate. The selection of finger sandwiches was classic and perfectly executed, with fresh fillings and delicate bread. The cakes and pastries were equally impressive, showcasing a delightful array of flavours and textures. Everything tasted freshly made and beautifully presented.
What truly elevated the experience was the attentive and friendly service. The staff went above and beyond to ensure we had a memorable time, catering to our needs with a smile. It was clear they take pride in providing a top-notch afternoon tea experience.
The Bull Hotel offers excellent value for money, especially when considering the quality of the food and service. The elegant setting provided a perfect backdrop for a relaxing afternoon with friends. I would highly recommend the Bull Hotel for anyone looking for a traditional and enjoyable afternoon tea in Peterborough.
It's the perfect place to celebrate a special occasion or simply indulge in a little treat.
I'm already looking forward to my next visit!

Firstly, we were very impressed on arriving at this hotel, perfectly situated in the centre of Peterborough and with residents' parking. It is a beautiful hotel with impressive decor, especially in the bar area. Our room was well furnished and we were pleased with it. We were however really disappointed with the breakfast. We arrived 45 mins before the end of service expecting a hot buffet as stated but there was none which was ok as the waitress asked us what we'd like, pointing out there were "no sausages". No fruit juice on the bar either, only two empty jugs. Our cooked breakfast arrived almost immediately and was lukewarm with a hard fried egg. We had to ask and wait for toast which wasn't offered. Coffee arrived in a cafetiere; which, when I poured, out came a load of grouts followed by greyish water. When I asked the waitress if she could please change it, she kindly did but came back with a cafetiere with no grouts and grey tepid water. It was a truly awful breakfast. The staff didn't seem at all motivated; even the receptionist seemed despondent during our stay. I'd politely ask management to address this situation and make it a happier place for their staff to work thus ensuring a beautiful hotel all round and one which residents would recommend and wish to return to.

Perfect location in centre of Pete bog horror. Little bit of noise at night but only to be expected when pubs around. Room clean and comfy. Took a little while for hot water but not a problem.

The hotel was clean. The man on the main reception desk was unfriendly. He had a complete couldn't be bothered attitude. The room was nice with clean bedding and towels etc. Had a few issues with the key card . When I went to check out waited ten mins and no one came so left key card on side.

Had afternoon tea with the hotel, loved the music and the snacks.
If you get it with a deal, get your voucher ready. The waitress strictly said she "did need the voucher".
Not too many people, was private and lovely, we enjoyed 😍

Booked for 14 people afternoon tea today for my birthday
I'm sorry to say this was the worst afternoon tea I've had anywhere
One lady doesn't eat butter so we asked for sandwiches without the answer that came back from the kitchen was it's margarine (really)
She got her sandwiches when everyone else had finished theres
The scone was fine but big bowls of cream and jam looked awful and not even a spoon to get it out
No nice cakes just tiny frozen ones that everyone left
Tea pots where put on the table with one tea bag for about 4 cups again disappointing.
There was no staff one poor lady trying to do everything herself
I had been in the day before to confirm everything but nothing was conveyed over to her
I would not recommend afternoon tea for a party of people at the Bull Hotel Peterborough to anyone very very disappointing
