Good clean rooms and tasty food. Isolated location which means quiet and nice grounds but not much to do as no leisure facilities. Was surprised to see £10 tray charge on bill on checkout for room service as not warned of this when ordering - 5 star hotels in London charge much less, they only had to walk at most for one minute and I even collected drink as phone in room did not work and I had to order in restaurant.

Lovely restaurant for afternoon tea. |Attentive server. |Very nice selection of savoury and sweet items on the afternoon tea platter - the homemade scotch egg was delicious, unusual matcha cakes and very rich dark chocolate brownies plus dinky clementine sponges along with sandwiches and of course warm scones. |Plenty of tea and coffee. |Only us and another table occupied. |Hotel should advertise more locally to encourage greater custom.

New Years Eve what a night. Food was amazing hospitality was great. The marquee looked fabulous and warm on a very windy evening. Thanks to all the staff especially Nacey our waitress.
Not forgetting the DJ that kept us all up dancing.

I'm not usually one for reviews but after seeing some of the negative reviews, I feel I need to leap to the oakmere's defense. I have stayed here quite a few times now as my head office is close by to the hotel this is pound for pound a superb hotel, the staff are always friendly the food is always great and the rooms are exceptional, the negative reviews are a bit odd.
Perhaps they were expecting the Ritz or Savoy
if you want warm comfy rooms with a very nice restaurant for sub £130 then you wont get better and I travel a lot, i have paid this much for a premier Inn before and that doesn't get you much!

Having visited and enjoyed lunch in the bar, several times before, particularly the tapas menu we booked a table for lunch for my birthday. The bar was busy when we arrived and it took a while for the staff to acknowledge us. We ordered 6 plates from the menu, some of which we had enjoyed previously. I am afraid the food was not up to their usual standard. We felt the food was bland,not enough sauce on the chicken wings (smaller wings) the chipolatas were dry and tasteless and the crab cakes lacking in crab. It is a shame as the pub is warm and cosy and has a lovely atmosphere . I have recommended The Oaksmere to friends in the past but would not do so again. I wondered if it was because this time we went on a weekend!!!

Stayed here over night on a work trip and had a work dinner. The receptionist was lovely when I checked in and showed me to my room. Room was nice and spacious and I will recommend room 5 it’s to die for.

The meal was even more exceptional I had the mixed grill and my work colleague had a mussels, Clams and king prawn tagliatelle

The atmosphere was lovely in the restaurant.

The room was amazing and comfortable and warm and there is sky in the room as well for sports and movie lovers for a nice unwind. Only down fall was no shower but the tub was ok.

Lovely rural setting and great looking restaurant but the food leaves a lot to be desired. Crab cakes had barely any crab meat and had a mushy filling, mixed grill with overdone unseasoned meat. The scallops were excellent though.

Dear Manager|We were so looking forward to Sunday lunch,our first time at the Oaksmere Hotel.|Soup came with a french stick should have been sourdough. We ordered the Sharing board we both had Lamb we were not told we could have two meats{first day of sharer} it came well presented but cold also plates were cold!. We sent it back some things were warmer but plate still cold they forgot the yorkshires complained came back cold, had to ask again as no cutlery|It would have been a lovely time as restaurant and venue very pretty but a lack of attention to detail,we were so dissappointed as its only 15mins from us and we could have visited every Sunday.|Girls serving were lovely.
