Kelly & Alex did a fantastic job catering for my wedding last Saturday. Kelly did all the prep and Alex cooked for 86 of us. We had canapes and BBQ feasting platters with delicious sides. Everything was super tasty. The greek salad and chorizo was out of this world and the burgers were big and tasty.
I would highly recommend these guys for any catering event. They know how to provide the best service and the tastiest food.

they catered for my wife’s 30th birthday party. fantastic grazing table with 2 staff for the evening to waiter etc. (and would recommend anyone having staff to hall 1 takes all the pressure off to actually enjoy the party). I couldn’t have been happier with the food or service. thank you.

Alex and her team provided a fantastic meal to our team of 60 outside our depot as part of a team building day. The food was excellent - quality fillets of chicken, burgers and bratwursts accompanied by salads and corn on cob. Very well received. The service was professional from start to finish, clear easy menus to pick from, good communications, easy to pay and am extremely quick turnaround. We look forward to using them again at BlakemoreFoodservice Wakefield.

Alex and the rest of her team did a great job at catering our post-elopement party at The Mill Tileyard North. She answered any questions we had (a lot of questions) and was happy to make slight changes to the menu options to meet our needs. The food was high standard and everyone enjoyed it on the night. Unfortunately, the Yorkshire Catering Company caused us a lot of stress on our wedding day and beyond. Despite numerous attempts at contact via both email and phone (with only a couple actually being successful as my phone calls were ignored - until I rang from a different number…) we were unable to resolve the issues we faced and felt very let down by Alex’s attitude towards us.

We hired the Yorkshire Catering Company to cater our wedding in October of last year, and were left very disappointed on a number of fronts.

We had chosen a package including a selection of canapés, a buffet-style wedding breakfast, and evening food with a focus on vegetarian options as both myself (the bride) and my husband are veggie. They also stated that they could cater to a couple of allergies & dietary requirements from guests. We had also arranged for the company to provide crockery and cutlery for our wedding cake, which was to be served as dessert.

Our biggest concern was one of health and safety. When it came time to select our food from the main buffet, there was no signage informing guests of which foods adhered to any dietary requirements. When I (and other guests) asked the two staff members who were behind the buffet about this, they didn’t actually know what was vegetarian or gluten free. This was concerning given that it would have been a bit upsetting to have accidentally eaten meat on my wedding day - but of bigger concern was the fact that someone with a gluten intolerance could have been made quite unwell had they chosen the wrong item due to the staff not being informed.

The quality of the food itself was rather lacking overall (I appreciate that we’d gone for a ‘budget’ option, but I did expect it to be considerably better than it was).

Once our main meal was cleared away, we expected the cake to be served as arranged - but unfortunately this wasn’t the case. Laura, the venue owner, had to come and ask me what the plan was with the cake because neither the Yorkshire Catering Company’s chef nor the other two staff members seemed to know. My Mum and I then had to try and figure out with Laura how we could serve the cake with no plates or cutlery - we all ended up eating it off napkins with our hands (a little risky when you’re wearing a white dress!). I was disappointed that I had to deal with this myself on my wedding day, as I didn’t feel I should have to be responsible for keeping the catering running smoothly.

Finally, we experienced even more issues with the evening food. We’d arranged for the evening food to be served around 8pm, but after speaking with the venue owner I learned that the staff had tried to put the food out at 6.40pm. Venue staff had to stop them from doing this and send it back to the kitchen. The next thing we knew, they’d put the food out at 7.30pm without telling anyone - so the food sat out at the back for half an hour while the band played before people realised it was there, by which point it was cold and soggy. Again, there was no information about dietary requirements (and no staff to inform anyone) so it was just another health and safety gamble for people - not to mention that there didn’t seem to be enough food to serve all 79 guests.

Not long after the wedding, I emailed Alex with my complaint - I received no response, despite chasing it up multiple times. Eventually I managed to get through to her on the phone weeks later, where I was told they were just too busy to deal with my complaint. I did get an email response after a few more attempts at chasing things up, where Alex stated that they felt they had ‘delivered your catering to a standard and reflected your price paid.’ I replied addressing the points she had made in her email, and never received a response.

I’d really, really suggest heeding the other poor reviews and staying well away - they’re unpleasant to deal with, seem very unorganised and clearly don’t care about any level of customer care - as long as they’ve got your money, they’re happy!

Just want to say thanks to Alex, Kelly and the team for really helping make our wedding day go as smoothly as possible. The staff were incredibly pleasant and helpful. We had a carvery style hot buffet and the food tasted great and it was exactly what we wanted. Alex and Kelly helped me put together the perfect menu for our wedding meal and had helped me organise the whole meal from start to finish. Our wedding guests had told us how good the food was with highlights including the beef, cauliflower cheese and sticky toffee pudding.

They were also incredibly understanding when moving wedding dates due to the pandemic which happened to us twice.

I would recommend the Yorkshire Catering Company.
