My wife and I had a lovely stay at Rock House B&B! We met Paul who was a GREAT host, and owner of the property. Great room, with a great view, breakfast is delicious, and the B&B is a a great spot for your Peak District and Bakewell holiday!

Absolutely perfect, never been to Derbyshire before, & came across the Rock House B & B when i was looking to book somewhere for four days, the house itself is in Alport tiny hamlet, but with lovely walks. The owners Paul & Lizzie couldn't have been friendlier or more accomodating, in respects to giving me almond milk from her own fridge, when i had found out literally 24 hours before we went away that i can longer drink cows milk, she also made sure we had bananas & strawberries for breakfast, there is no cooked breakfast, but there is an egg cooker so you can have boiled eggs if you wish, which i did with either sourdough or wholemeal bread for me, also white bread & crumpets available. Cereals available, & jam, marmalade, chocolate spread, & biscoff, orange juice on the table along with a dish of butter, all beautifully set with lovely crockery & cutlery, & a vase of daffodils. We had a bedroom overlooking the front garden, all lovely & comfortable & clean, our bathroom wasn't en-suite but right next door, lovely big shower cubicle, chice of two shower heads, & excellent pressure & hot water. We also got to meet the family pets,3 dogs, & 2 cats so well behaved & friendly, not a bark to disturb us, there is a lounge where we sat in the evening with a cuppa & had a look at the tv for an hour, or read my book. There is a bus stop 60 seconds walk from the front door, & we jumped on the bus to Bakewell, which only took about 15 minutes, you can walk into Youlgreave as well which took about 20 mins alongside the water rather than the road, gorgeous lambs in the fields with their mums, also there is a walk though the fields in the opposite direction, which is where they take the dogs. The whole house is beautifully kept, i am so pleased we found it, we are going back without a doubt, the only downside is unfortunately it won't be until next April, with one thing & another, but we are looking forward to it already, i highly recommend anybody going to this area, look them up & book. Thankyou for a wonderful stay, & we look forward to returning, to visit Chatsworth & Ladybower Reservoir amongst other places, also good place to take a bike if you can.

We had a wonderful stay at Rock House. The rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable. Having a lovely fire and cats and dogs to come back to in the evening was a huge plus in the weather we had, and Paul and Lizzie are really great hosts !

What a find! Needed a place in walking distance from Youlgrave- I hit the jackpot. Like a small stately home. Lovely interior colours, beautiful garden. Interesting layout. Very friendly hosts. I felt super comfortable here straight away. The continental breakfast was a very high standard. Will be staying again.

Strongly recommended! The hosts are wonderful, they let you feel at home and welcoming. The house is stunning and I saw two rooms ,both of them elegant and beautifully decorated. Clean, tidy and very cosy. The breakfast is full of options and set with prime vintage china set that make you feel a Princess!
Garden and all the surrounding is perfect for an escape to the country. Definitely we will back.

Absolutely beautiful BnB with the most welcoming hosts. Being a massive animal lover, having the chance to meet the family pets was a bonus!. Rooms are spotless and gorgeously decorated, the shower was to die for and I didn't want to get out! Also had the best nights sleep away from home ever! Would recommend 100%

My wife and I stayed at Rock House B&B over NYE and it was absolutely brilliant. Lizzie and Paul made us feel very welcomed and comfortable. We were attending a NYE celebration and I had to drive at the last minute due to a taxi cancellation (nothing to do with Rock House) but when I returned to Rock House early AM there was a chilled bottle of prosecco waiting for me so I could celebrate which was a lovely touch from Lizzie and Paul. The breakfast was excellent, the room was clean and spacious, and it is a cracking location for walks in the area. Oh, and Lizzie and Paul’s dogs were utterly charming too much like their owners. I look forward to staying again soon.

Lizzie and Paul were welcoming friendly attentive hosts. They were very knowledgeable about the local area. The house is full of character and most comfortable. Lovely fresh produce for breakfast. We would definitely recommend staying here and look forward to a return visit.
