I booked a table for two last night. I'm glad I chose to come to the poets corner it certainly didn't disappoint. I had 8 ounce sirloin steak, chips etc, my partner had the same. We both really enjoyed the meal, the steak was cooked to perfection just how we ordered it. There was a lovely hot fire, nothing was too much trouble for the girl who was waiting on, we were made very welcome. The only thing they could improve on is they need larger plates, which we told the waitress. Me and my partner will definitely be back soon, I can fully recommend this place to anyone.

This pub sits in the beautiful village of Ashover Derbyshire. Also, in the village , the Black Swan and The Crispin are both very nice pubs . The Old Poet Corner, for me, is my type of pub . It is a wonderful pub that holds its old charm of yesterday years character stone floors cosy fires plenty of room . The bar has a fine selection of beer wines and spirits . I have not had a meal here but can say what I've witnessed from customers who have that they do look good ole fashioned wholesome meals . The staff are very friendly and welcoming. It's in a great position of the village the rear of the pub having beautiful views over the valley. I understand they have rooms for visitors, which i understand are very nice. Well, it's worth a visit, and I'd guarantee to call here won't disappoint . A great old pub 👌 👍

I stayed for 4 nights over New Year with my daughter and son-in-law and our 4 dogs (2 terriers & 2 Scottish Deerhounds) The staff could not have been more friendly and welcoming. Nothing was too much trouble. The beers are "to die for" - do not miss the Plum Porter. The menu is interesting and varied and all of our meals were delicious. Simply it is a fantastic pub to stay in either for a break or as a base for seeing the Peak District. If other Titanic pubs are half this good, I will be visiting each in turn (and I live in S Lanarkshire).

I've probably been in 7 times or so over the last month or 2. Id go in for one of there lovely hot chocolates after a walk in ashover. I'd either go in alone or with female friends. Every time I went in the staff and the surroundings were perfect. My issue is the landlord (well who I presume to be landlord as he's been there every time) he's got to be the rudest, unwelcoming person I've every met. It's really surprising that he's chosen to work with the public because he's really not cut out for it. I've given lots of thought as to why he's so rude to me and my friends (because we're lovely, polite people) and can only come up with 2 conclusions. Either were not making enough money for his liking with our coffees and hot chocolates.....or hes a misogynist......or perhaps a combination of both.

The warmest of welcomes awaited us when we arrived at the Old Poets Corner. This is an authentic Derbyshire pub with incredibly warm and welcoming staff who made us feel right at home.
The room, while not very large, was well equipped, the bed was comfy and the complimentary beers reflecting the name of the room a great touch!
We had the family who live locally join us for dinner on our first night and everyone had a great meal with fantastic service accompanied by some really good beer!
The breakfast here is absolutely unreal! Full cooked breakfast, fully loaded with really good bacon and sausages! The staff remained attentive throughout our stay, providing a sausage at each breakfast for our little sausage dog! The chef made us a tray of tea on a Sunday morning when she arrived.
The location is beautiful, nestled in the gorgeous village of Ashover surrounded by amazing walks.

Entered the pub as a large group. Went to the bar to place a substantial drinks order (in excess of £130). Waited to be served. Completely ignored until all regulars had been tended to. Then given a stone cold nod to start placing my order. Not a word muttered or hint of a smile. Miserable thoughtout the entire exchange. Very much made to feel like we were totally unwelcome and we were a hassle to him, like we were asking a big favour and really putting him out. Makes for a horrible atmosphere in what would be a lovely Derbyshire pub.
