I visited here on a solo trip from Nottingham as I fancied a walk around around Chatsworth House whilst my partner was working - luckily they managed to squeeze me in which was great! The food, service and everything in between was 10/10. The staff & host were so friendly & welcoming. I had roast lamb which was cooked perfectly & the crumble was the best I’ve had in any restaurant! Would 100% recommend to anyone visiting the local area - a really welcoming/warm & tranquil place to eat

Just had a 2 night stay at The Pilsley Inn. The room was lovely (we were in Hilltop)...the double bed was high but love the addition of the steps. The room was spotless with a gorgeous big bathroom. We had dinner at the pub...meals were delicious. The breakfast was also really good...with good choice. The staff were all so nice and attentive. This is our 2nd visit to the pub to stay and eat and can highly recommend it

I would normally give this hotel an excellent but we now have reservations.The staff are lovely and the rooms delightful.It is very welcoming and we thoroughly enjoyed the meals especially breakfast which was first class. A very attractive bar serving very good real ale is also a bonus .|Despite all this we feel that the dog friendly policy is far too liberal.|At our evening meal a lady had a dog on her knee next to us and left it on the seat whenever she stood up . We were also astonished that at breakfast dogs were also fed and again one such dog was on a knee the whole time .Apart from the hygiene issue yapping dogs in a small room certainly spoil any ambience.|There needs to be an area where guests can eat food free of our canine friends .

Perfect location for Chatsworth House. We stayed in the Bramble room, so lovely and quaint. The food was amazing in particular the breakfasts were so filling. We will be back 😊

This is one of my favourite places for dining in the Peak District. We have been on a number of occasions for lunch and dinner and the food and service was always outstanding. We love that most of the ingredients are locally sourced and we can definitely tell that the meat is always of great quality. ||We will continue going back!

Popped in for something to eat. Great friendly service. Nice pub to dine.
Food excellent! Ploughman's very good. Partners club sandwich 🥪, crikey ! What looked like whole chicken fillets on there , she had to eat separately. Really impressed.

A lovely break away. We had the petite double Bramble which is cosy and had everything we needed with a good size bathroom and a lovely view over the village. The staff were friendly and helpful throughout. We had dinner both nights which was excellent with a good choice. Breakfast was fabulous. Not a huge menu but everything you would want with the staff happy to tailor to suit. We had Chatsworth tickets included which we made good use of and I would definitely recommend. If I had two tiny nitpicks they would be that the homemade biscuits on arrival were a nice touch but it would have been nice to either have them replaced or others put in for the next day to have with a cup of tea in our room on our return. The other is that I completely understand having full size bottles for the toiletries now rather than small ones but it would be better if they are refilled for each guest rather than be either half full or nearly empty. Apart from that, everything was perfect and I would recommend staying here.

We loved this place. Booked so we could visit Chatsworth at Christmas but the hotel was just as much of a treat. We had a farmhouse room with a four poster bed and an enormous bathroom. Super clean with lovely welcoming touches. Good value to. Amazingly friendly staff, very nice rooms and delicious food. We thought this was amazing
