We booked a quick one night away after having had a difficult family time over the past month.It was just what we needed. All the staff were lovely. We had room 1 ,I had requested a quiet room with a bath, and that is exactly what we got.We didn't eat our evening meal at the pub ,but breakfast was yummy. The only thing missing in the room and breakfast was decaffeinated teabags ,but Id brought my own, so it didn't really matter.

Not worth it for the cost. The service was average and food was below par for the price. We all ordered starters, mains and dessert. They mixed up our first drink order and forgot to come back with additional drinks we had ordered throughout the meal. We booked for a Saturday evening as we anticipated it would be busy after walk around Curbar edge and will drive a bit further next time we visit.

Starters: Garlic mushrooms x 2 and sticky chicken x 2. Mushrooms were average. The chicken was flavourless and drenched in basic mayonnaise.

Main: Steak duo pie (ordered medium rare), lamb duo (ordered well done, but came medium), lamb duo pie (ordered rare, came just about rare but very chewy, and a lamb duo pie (ordered rare but came medium). All the meat was really poor quality and a small portion of it for the price. The mint sauce came out the fridge and put straight in a pot. The veg and potatoes were bland - hadn’t been cooked with seasoning and same could be said for the pie filling and pastry.

Dessert: Apple crumble x 2 - very little topping and not crispy at all. The custard was dangerously hot. Sticky toffee pudding was very disappointing. It didn’t come with toffee sauce and the sponge was just sweet and nothing else. The brownie was the ‘best’ of the bunch, but do question if it was made in case.

Every member of staff could not have been more helpful and kind, the food was lovely and the room we stayed in was very clean, spacious and well equipped. We'll definitely come back again!

Went here for a meal and drinks. Food was super nice, the drinks cocktails were amazing and both very good value. Dog friendly, very pleasant staff. Great atmosphere. Food and drink not over priced.

Food - dinner and breakfast - were excellent. Staff were friendly and efficient.
Rooms had basic furniture, were clean and the beds were good.
Some traffic noise from the road, but got a good night's sleep.

My son and I popped in for our breakfast. We were on our way to the bakewell Xmas market and we decided we would sooner dine at the wheatsheaf than find a stall on the market!
Been to the pub a few times now, only at breakfast time. The food is excellent, always! With a variety to choose from, anybody can find something for their palette.
The staff are and were so friendly, welcoming.
We didn't book in advance, it wasn't a problem and was quickly escorted to a table and told where everything was. I must admit, I do enjoy my breakfast here. One day I must go for a lunch or evening meal.
Looking forward to my next visit.

Perfect hotel, in a perfect location. Rooms exceptionally clean and well kept. Staff and food amazing. Would definitely recommend. Amazing value for money. Parking was free and secure with plenty of spaces on our arrival.

Super big room for this price! so cheap breakfast but high quality food! So friendly and professional stuff! I was worried about noise Cause it's next to street and over the pub, but it's actually very quiet! And also its winter but room or bed temperature is not cold!!!! Absolutely 100/100 for everything!!! And they have all the kind of good beer as well
