Just returned home from an overnight stay at The Rutland Hotel with friends. Arrived lunchtime and sat by the fire with a coffee and sandwich - good quality coffee and doorstep sandwiches. It was very busy with residents and passers by. Battered fish pieces in a brioche roll served with salty fries and a generously filled doorstep cut bread with thick sliced ham - lined our stomachs well for an afternoon sampling several Bakewell hostelries. We enjoyed pre dinner drinks in the bar that has a good cocktail and gin menu and choice of ales and lagers. |Our room was 102, Jane Austen room and was light and comfortable. Great sized bed, crisp linens and towels. We were really pleased with it. Breakfast is freshly made to order. It was very busy when we got to the restaurant at 930. You help yourself to pastries, fruit, cereal and toast and order from the breakfast menu a freshly cooked option. We did have a slightly longer wait than we expected for it to arrive (an hour) but didn’t mind as it was fresh, piping hot with good quality bacon, sausage and eggs. |The hotel is cosy, spacious with super decor.|We really enjoyed our stay here and will definitely return. The staff are really friendly albeit very busy too!

What a real treat to stay here two nights! Staff super friendly and helpful, bar well stocked as well as having high end bar snacks. The evening smaller bites menu contained local cheeses and the breakfast was absolutely delicious - excellent kitchen team! Our room was very warm and comfortable. Guest parking is limited but we were lucky on both nights. The carpark sits in a courtyard very near to a bend, but pretty much opposite the side entrance to the hotel. Thank you! Wouldn't hesitate in recommending this hotel. We were extra lucky as happened to be in Bakewell on the Monday - market day! All walking distance from the hotel.

This hotel dominates the centre of Bakewell, there is the main hotel which is beautiful, very grand interior, especially the dining area where we had breakfast, which was fabulous. We stayed in room 406 which is the annexe part of the hotel, across the Rd where the small car park is. The room was nice, but very small. The room provided everything we needed and the bathroom looked newly refurbished. I did go to reception to see if I could upgrade to a bigger room, especially because it was my birthday, the hotel was fully booked though, however the receptionist, a very smart gentleman Dave, provided a complimentary card and chocolates, such a sweet gesture. Great location and had a very nice stay. If I was to go again, I'd prefer to stay in the main hotel and not the annexe

I've just eaten the best Sunday Roast ever. The staff was great and the whole experience was very nice. I had a Sunday Roast with friends and all of us agreed about the quality of both the food and the service. Desserts were great too. Also the restaurant has a very elegant furnishing with nice paintings on the walls. Very recommended

We stayed for one night in the Jane Austen room which was beautiful and spotlessly clean. ||Check in was quick and friendly and we parked in the car park over the road which was free. Bonus these days with central hotels! ||The hotel is beautiful staff are friendly the only thing that was disappointing was how long we had to wait for our breakfast which was about half an hour once ordered which was surprising as there were not many people in the restaurant. The food was lovely however when it arrived. |Would definitely recommend.

Stayed for two nights in a 2nd floor room at the back of the hotel which was nice and quiet. All the staff were super helpful and lovely. Food was excellent. Not much parking but that's clearly stated on the website. Lovely hotel, would recommend it 😄
