My partner and I had an impromptu night away. We arrived early and were able to check-in right away. The staff were so wonderful. We met so many dogs in the bar / restaurant, so that made my stay. |We ate in the restaurant..... bloody hell, the food was on point. The gravy WOW. We had to ask for more. |They ran out of Prosecco, but a member of staff found a bottle and saved it for us, which I thought was lovely. They really made the stay wonderful.

We had a lovely couple of nights here. The room was very nice and comfortable, the pub itself is very cosy and the staff were all amazing. Georgina in particular was fantastic.

The village itself is beautiful. Please do check them out if you're in the area.

We have just spent two nights at The Moon Inn where we found great food, friendly smiley staff, a laid back atmosphere, a comfortable bed and awesome poached eggs!! Cross the main road to explore the old part of the village of Stoney Middleton|and perhaps you'll meet the local postman who does his round on foot and is a mine of information about the history of the village including the boot makers who still use the original Singer machines.||Thanks for a great stay!|Greg and Christine

Both myself and my partner planned to stay here for 1 night last week. Upon entering we were greeted by a kind lady who showed us to our room. However, upon arrival we were surprised she had only just turned on the radiator in the room. Whilst we thought it’s ok the room will get hot, so we went out for dinner and returned and it was still cold. We both had coats and jumpers on and had to sit with these on until we decided to leave 4 hours later. We asked for a refund and the girls provided us with someone’s number, I contacted the property directly through booking.com and received not even an apology, but no refund offered at all regardless and they denied the room being cold. Unfortunately, we don’t find freezing cold rooms warm like themselves. A partial refund would’ve been satisfactory, but after receiving the rude response, I will just be taking it further with the booking provider which I booked with. It also took them about 4 days to respond to me after requesting for a response. I would avoid at all costs, unless you do not feel the cold.

AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS!!||Absolutely disgusting, filthy & stained bedding & an equally disgusting manager who goes by the name of Josh who has stolen our money!!!!!!!!||As we walked down the corridor to our room we noticed the carpet was stained & quite dirty however, we let that go as we expected wear & tear in a through route. However, when entering our room we noticed our carpet was also filthy. When pulling back the bed sheets, they were absolutely filthy also!!! There were dirt marks, blood stains & yellow stains all over. We could also see severe yellow staining of the pillows through the pillow cases. We politely asked the lady who greeted us what could be done & she showed my husband another room. Again, the bedding was also heavily stained in that room too. We gave them the benefit of the doubt & asked if they could change our bedding. Upon inspecting our changed bedding, again that was heavily stained. We asked to speak to the manager & was told he wasnt in & that he would call us tomorrow. We then left rather late in the evening with no alternative accomodation.||The next day arrived & by mid afternoon we still hadnt had a call from the manager! We called & was told the manager still wasn't in & that he would be in soon. By around 5.30 we still had no call so phoned again to be told the manager should be in soon & will call us. Surprise surprise, over a week later & still no call back & the accommodation still has our money!!!||A birthday trip that was spoilt by filthy accomodation & a manager that couldn't care less about his customers!||How can anyone have absolutely no morals at all & run a business this way?!||We will be taking it further if we don't get our money back!!!||||PLEASE NOTE- the photos attached are of our bedding once it had been changed. Our first lot of bedding was 100 times worse than this!

Lovely traditional pub, fantastic food, great cask beers. Staff were super. We stayed overnight and room was great, so comfortable huge bed. Breakfast was a winner too

My daughter, mother and myself stayed at 'The Moon Inn' just before Christmas and we were very satisfied with the whole experience. We stayed in the Deluxe Family suite which was spacious, clean and modern. The bathroom had recently be refurbished and was very nice. It is very close to Chatsworth House, so was an ideal location for our trip away for the night. Breakfast was included with the stay, which was excellent and the staff were more than accommodating. When I first read some of the reviews of three stars I had a slight trepidation, but as always with Trip Advisor some people think they are on 'Four in A bed' and look for faults - like a cobweb ....,please!! My honest review is if you are looking for somewhere that's clean, close to Chatsworth & good value for money then I definitely recommend 'The Moon Inn'.

Had a lovely two day stay at this pub whilst visiting Christmas in the snow
at Chatsworth House..Great location,reasonably priced, warm cosy accommodation with clean rooms. Food excellent served by very friendly professional staff. Special shout out to Emma. She was made for this job..never stopped but was always there for a laugh and a joke. Would definitely recommend this pub to anyone staying in a area
