We have just returned from a week at Beech Cottage and can't recommend it highly enough. It was spacious, spotlessly clean and had everything we could need. The endless supply of logs meant we could have a fire every night and we enjoyed our visits from the hosts cats Jet and Marble. Set right in the centre of the village you are just a minutes walk from the village pubs, shops and the fish and chip van on Friday. It is also located very close to beautiful walks and cycle rides. Phone signal in the village isn't great, but the cottage WiFi is excellent and allowed for Netflix streaming, WhatsApp calls, etc. Thank you Fred and Lesley - we had a wonderful stay!

I stayed in Birch Cottage this weekend with a group of friends. We hired out both cottages between us. They are both lovely! Clean, comfortable and equipped with everything we needed (and more!). The scenery is amazing too.

My only issue (and it's a minor niggle) was the duvet on the double bed in the family room in Birch has a weird covering, which makes it very noisy when you move around. It's almost a plastic sort of material. But it was comfy and lovely and thick. Just a shame about the noise it makes!

Thank you to the owners for providing such lovely accommodation for our weekend!

Very comfortable beds, and a car who stops by regularly. Some issues with WiFi, but generally good. Minus a star for lack of tea towels, but otherwise this is nice. Great area and garden aswell, though said garden is a tad small if you were planning on any activities other than breakfast outside. It is just a short walk from the village store, which sells fresh produce to cleaning products. There are also many great cycling tracks nearby. Great place to stay

Peak district holiday rent cottage in Hartington. 3 bedrooms, Sleeps 7, fully furnished with all mod-cons, utilities & WiFi included!

I’m doing a bit of a personal G+ review because I was so impressed and can honestly say I would book this cottage again without a second thought. If you are looking for a peak rental cottage you must at least check this one out!

Hartington is sat right in the middle of the south peak district with Leek, Ashbourn, Buxton, Matlock & Bakewell just 15-20mins drive away! A perfect base for walkers and cyclists that want to explore the peak district trails. There are two very similar cottages - Birch & Beech (i believe ours slept one extra) and we rented Beech for a late winter break and it was wonderful. Plenty of room, a fully fitted kitchen with all utensils, towels and bed linen all included. The owners (jack & Lesley) live just a few doors away and were always on hand should we need anything. They are very kid friendly and so they also supplied a cot and high chair, as well as the open log fire having a very sturdy fire guard.
I won’t go on as the website holds all the extra info you will need, plus it will put you in direct contact with the owners if you have questions rather than go through an online cottages agency.

Hartington itself is a lovely little village and the cottage is a stone’s throw (literately) from the pub, news agents & village store. :o)

By all means drop me a message if you want any more info..
