Me and my partner went for dinner last night to this lovely pub and it was absolutely perfect. We were seated quickly and ordered our food and within 10 minutes the starters came. Absolutely delicious. No wait at all for the food and it was amazing! We had a starter, main and dessert each. Really nice pub grub but with a little modern twist. Lovely atmosphere as well. 10/10 recommend.

Four of us had an excellent meal last night. The service was first rate on a busy night and the quality of the food was very good. Each course had good flavours and the portions were fine. Two of the party had belly pork which they said was especially fine.
There's always a lovely atmosphere in there and our guests thought it was one of their best country dining experiences.

We stayed at the Ye Olde Dun Cow for 2x nights as we were attending a wedding at the Blithbury Lakes nearby. The staff helped before the stay emailing me local taxis to pre-book for our stay.||Upon arrival, after a 4.5 hour drive, we walked into an extremely comfortable, welcoming pub with lovely decoration, good menu, and friendly staff/locals.||We settled in our perfectly adequate and comfortable room and went back downstairs to have our evening meal. The food was delicious. The staff were attentive and friendly. It was a great evening.||The shower in the room was powerful and the bed was comfortable. There was a working tv and plenty of condiments to choose from. The area was so peaceful.||Breakfast in the morning was a fantastic full English and the morning staff were so friendly (even popping home so I could borrow hairspray which I had forgotten to bring with me!). It was unexpectedly kind.||I can’t recommend the pub and the food enough. I will definitely stay there again. A great weekend away!! Thank you so much x

This was our first visit to Ye Olde Dun Cow but we will certainly be coming back. Set in a lovely location just outside of Rugeley in Colton, the restaurant has a cosy welcoming old world feel, but what really stands out is the exceptional service and tasty well presented meals. Prices are more than reasonable too.

utterly awful I ordered Guinness but got the alternative stout I had lamb shank which had so much fat in itwe had to use a steak knife to get at the meat the sauce was so strong in taste. the lamb wasn't noticed. the prices are very overpriced £38 for a steak in a pub is ridiculous. one thing saved the night. the service was the best I've come across. I probably won't be returning there again. not unless I win the lottery or get the insurance for bumping off the wife.

Very friendly staff, the food was amazing food. Perfectly cooked, hot and very, very tasty. Spoke with the owner and head chef in the morning, really nice guy. The breakfast was as nice as the evening meal. If I am passing or in the area again, will definitely be back. Go give them a visit, well worth it.

The landlady has a very poor attitude for someone in a service industry. We booked a table two months in advance for a family party of 8. We arrived dead on time and by the time we had ordered drinks for all at the bar and we were all sat down, it was three minutes after the booking time. The landlady came a minute later to tell us that three of the eight pre booked meals were no longer available. The two minted lamb shanks were now tandoori lamb shanks and sea bass was no longer available. We asked to see the menu to order replacements and she initially said that we couldn’t because we’d pre booked; also we needed to hurry up because we were late and she needed the table. She did eventually agree to my wife seeing the menu to find a replacement for the sea bass. The two TANDOORI shanks tasted overwhelmingly of tomato and were not enjoyed. The service was adequate but not good. We ate and left. Some birthday party!!!|Perhaps she was stressed before we arrived, but that’s no excuse for being rude. If she can’t stand the heat, perhaps she should get out of the kitchen!

We went for a drink for my Uncles birthday on Saturday, we arrived at 5.30pm as my cousin had been on the website and it's says it is open from 5pm, the lady open and was vile, rude and unwelcoming saying to my auntie they don't open till 6pm so apparently it is our fault there website is wrong but we were aloud in we went to the bar ordered some drinks then discussing what drinks we had ordered the lady said "I'm going as fast as i can." We weren't in a rush. Once we had got out drink talking about where to go and sit the lady abruptly interrupted and said we could only sit at one table. Whether your having a bad day or we had arrived too early because your website is wrong that is no way to speak to anyone let alone paying customers, I think you should take a look at your customer service skills and if you are the owner I would take a good look at what trade you are in.
