For a reasonably priced hotel in central Burton, the rooms are comfortable with soft towels and sustainable hand and shower gel in big bottles on the walls of the bathroom. The heating was turned up way too high - I almost passed out.
Staff are very friendly and professional.

Honestly could not fault my 2 night stay here, Straight across road from Train station.
10 minute walk to town.
Rooms very spacious, tv coffee etc, Shampoo etc, beds and rooms clean ,breakfast is spot on. Met 4 members of staff on my staff lovely polite. Honestly nothing to fault.
Very much like Travelodge.
And best of all the building is amazing..

Overall I had a good experience just a couple of things about the hotel weren't up to standard in my opinion and should have been noticed before getting into the room.

The location of the hotel is good, just off a through road of Burton upon Trent, it's easy to get to where you need to be from there. The exterior of the hotel has been well preserved even with the interior modernisation you still see the old windows and bricks but then behind the old windows there is modern double glazed windows which are well insulated and set back from the original single glazed windows.

Upon arrival to the hotel I had to wait a while for someone to appear at reception to be able to check in. There's no automatic check in desk like at other hotels I've been in. And when you have a baby with you this wait seems even longer and more stressful. The staff were however polite helpful and friendly.

The key cards are the old style (and unreliable) magnetic strip type that you insert and pull out to unlock the door which in my experience isn't very reliable and we had to get the cards reprogrammed the next day as they wouldn't work at all.

The room was better than expected for the price although not without it's issues.
In our room the main light started flickering enough to be annoying and just worsened over time to the point where we didn't even turn it on and just used other lights in the room. Though when this was reported to reception they offered to change the room for us which we declined as we had already unpacked and gotten the baby settled.

After my first shower in the room I then noticed a large gap between the shower base and the tiles above it.

The room itself appeared clean and tidy. No air conditioning but there was a fan and an electric radiator both in the room along with a kettle and very basic tea and coffee supplies.

The bed was reasonably comfy, it was a firm mattress and reasonable pillows with extra pillows on a shelf in the room.

I came away fairly satisfied with the hotel for the price I had paid. Could have been better but not bad at all

Budget hotel. Kinda speaks for itself. Cleanliness not up to scratch. Stains on carpets. Our room was not serviced on the day between our two night stay. Didn't matter to us but you do expect that. Budget breakfast but not budget price. I suppose they have to make money somewhere. Cafe/bar area was more like a waiting room. Staff were friendly and very helpful though. My mum got a free night as her room wasn't serviced before she arrived.

Friendly, helpful reception staff. Simple room but clean, tidy, comfortable bed and warm. Very little noise from the railway. Free car parking from 6pm to 8am with a slip from reception, but make sure you buy and put your ticket on your car before 8am - the traffic wardens were waiting in their van hidden behind the building in the car park ready to pounce; and indeed they did on the stroke of 8 -and this was the Sunday morning too!
