We pop in every now and then, and on my most recent visit, I had lunch with my 3 children. We live nearby so didn't stay in the hotel.

The service was great, and the food was beyond delicious! All 4 of us were very pleased with the quality of the food.
I would highly recommend it!!

Dined Thursday 03/04/25 lunchtime.. This is my second review , the service is still as good as ever but I have to write to leave a review with regard to a new meal on the menu.
The meal in question was the Chilli Con Carne with wild rice and sour cream, it was excellent . The heat in the chilli was just right , medium I would say , and the sour cream was there to add a cooling effect . The beef was so tender as well.. Well done Chef and the Beacon. Three of us in our late 60's no complaints from any of us.

Dined on Thursday 28/11/24 lunchtime.
Staff were friendly and attentive (10/10), food was also excellent.
We were a couple both in our 60's and we both chose the lighter lunch menu, the quantity of food we were served was just right and thought that it represented excellent value.
Well done team you will defiantly see us again.

Had a family buffet for 27 people. Food was absolutely amazing and good value for money. Staff were very polite and helpful. So good we are planning to do it again in the summer

Family Christmas meal - 8 adults, 2 two toddlers, a 10 year old and twins of six months. Excellent service from start to finish, nothing too much trouble. Plenty of space for us to spread out. Food was delicious, great portions and lovely and hot.

Have visited on a number of occasions for big family gatherings and everything always runs smoothly. Food is delicious and the range available is great (lots of veggie/vegan options), and the staff provide a great service, always with a smile and good humour. It can be hard to find somewhere that can accommodate big groups so well, so we will definitely keep returning for those occasions as well as the odd table for 2 or just for drinks.

We have been to the Beacon several times now and have enjoyed the food and service on each occasion. The mixed grill has an authentic chargrilled/BBQ taste and the carvery was immense!
Special shout out to Leah, she brings such a vibe to the restaurant. Leah was especially good with the children, making sure the dishes were catered to their tastes and offering them alternatives to ensure they also had a good dining experience.
The Beacon is a little gem and it’s wonderful to see it thriving.

Visited for hubbys 70th birthday, 15 family members came including 2 children, all agreed food and service was 1st class and he had an amazing birthday meal. We really rate this restaurant, its local to us, really recommend.

This is a pub more than a hotel. We went for the Christmas party. Food was mediocre. Piaf rice was dry, not fresh. It was like microwaved from a refrigerated batch. I had selected blueberry and apple crumble. It was more like blue berry jam. Dish was topped with crumbled weetabix. Overall a disappointing experience. Service was good. Staff gave discount for the interior quality food.
