We have just returned from a very good stay at this unusual b & b. It is, as described - a converted hay loft! Our large room had a very comfortable king size bed, a shower room and everything we needed for our weekend. Jane, the owner was very welcoming and provided an excellent breakfast and gave us lots of information on the surrounding area. Hartington is a very picturesque village and The Hayloft is located two minutes away from the heart of the village. The Charles Cotten hotel serves excellent food. There is a cafe, shop and a pub - the Devonshire Arms. Bus services to Buxton and Ashbourne are literally a 2 min walk from the Hayloft.

What a lovely little retreat, so glad we found this special place. Jayne was there to greet us and welcomed us into her family home, quickly made us a cuppa and sat with us for a chat. Nothing was too much trouble. When Jayne heard about our 40th anniversary she appeared with a card and a bottle of prosecco which was a lovely thought. She also took us into Uttoxeter for our anniversary meal. Would definitely recommend the Hayloft with its freshly cooked breakfast and hospitality, great place, great people.

The owners were very welcoming and attentive to our needs, with accomodation that was very spacious, beautifully decorated and situated in wonderful peaceful countryside. The shower in the en-suite room was lovely and hot with robes and beautiful toiletries provided. We had a peaceful night sleep in a comfortable bed and then served a wonderful breakfast. A choice of cooked breakfast, omelette or fishcake served with fruit, a good choice of cereal and yoghurts set you up for the day. A warm welcoming family home.

I've stay here a few times and always happy to return to the friendly and welcoming hospitality of the hosts. The breakfasts will fill you for most of the day with excellent local produce. The bedrooms are both very comfortable and well stocked with tea and coffee along with disposable cups so a hot drink can be taken to go - something I've never seen at a B&B before - just goes to show the attention to detail that the host have. Like the title says, The Hayloft truly is like a second home. Upon arrival it was an inviting welcome from the wonderful hosts and their family, who waited on hand and foot for the duration of my short stay.||The location is as peaceful and private as can be, away from any road noise allowing a brief escape from everything, yet close enough to local amenities. Nothing was too much trouble for Jayne and Steve, who made every effort to make the stay as perfect as it was. ||||Picturesque views, superb hosts and a Full English cooked to perfection. Truly one of the best places around, a credit to the industry.

The whole family were wonderfully friendly and welcoming. Lovely place, beautiful area but in truth the hosts were just outstanding and Jayne's breakfast top notch. They were lovely to our dog too and even looked after him when we went out for a meal which was lovely of them. If I ever needed to stay anywhere near that area I wouldn't look elsewhere. In fact already thinking of what we could do if we went there again....we loved it.

Not surprisingly, a very well converted hayloft on a working farm. The bedroom was smart, clean and functional, with a good shower cubicle in the bathroom. Breakfast was served in a downstairs room and was good food, well cooked; most enjoyable.||||We were located in the village centre, less than 5 minutes walk from a selection of eating and drinking places. Also, an excellent location for day walks.||||Could easily stay here again.
