Great stay overall! The room was cool, clean, and in a peaceful part of Birmingham — a nice break from the busy city centre. The view was lovely too! The receptionist was super friendly and chatty, which made the check-in process quick and welcoming. I booked online and had my key within seconds, which was really convenient. Looking forward to trying the breakfast tomorrow. So far, a smooth and pleasant experience!

One of the worst hotel experiences I’ve had

This hotel was a complete disappointment. Cleanliness was clearly not a priority. My room had a filthy carpet that seemed like it had never been cleaned. The furniture was extremely old and in bad shape, so much so that I didn’t even want to touch anything. The bedding looked decades old and worn out.

The bathroom wasn’t any better: a cheap, ugly shower curtain, low-quality toiletries, and an overall unclean feel. The entire hotel had an odd, unpleasant smell throughout.

Breakfast was disaster. Dirty cutlery, very old dishes, and extremely poor food quality. I stuck to only pre-packaged items out of concern. The coffee tasted awful, definitely the lowest quality possible.

As for the location, it might be close to the city center with train/bus stations being in walking distance, but the neighborhood is far from welcoming. I felt unsafe just walking outside the hotel. The area was dirty and made me uncomfortable.

I absolutely do not recommend this hotel to anyone. It was an unpleasant experience from start to finish.

My second time staying here and it's very clean and In a great location you can't go wrong. Reception staff are very friendly. There is a newsagents 1 min walk away if you need to grab anything. The bullring is a 5 min walk away. Its quite hilly to get to but not a bad walk. Birmingham new street is also a 5 min walk. China town is across the road and plenty of restaurants to choose from. Rooms are spacious and beds are comfortable. For a budget hotel it's really good.

The staff are the most accommadating and friendly. I use a wheelchair and have various dietary requirements and the staff went out of their way to help me and my carer.
The rooms are so clean and had plenty of grab rails and emergency cords and everything was at wheelchair height too with lots of USB and charging ports for medical equipment.
While there were no ground floor rooms there were emergancy evac chairs in case of a fire and three lifts to use to get around.
The cafe had plenty of room and it was nice and quiet too (around 7am, 9.45am and 5pm had the least crowds)

The location is good, with good access to the train station, which was very convenient. However, my overall experience was mixed.

There was no soap provided in the room, and I had to use the shampoo dispenser in the shower instead, which wasn’t ideal. I tried calling the hotel to request more amenities, but there was no answer.

The room itself was quite cold. I set the temperature to 24°C, but at night, the system automatically switched to eco mode and lowered the temperature, leaving me cold throughout the night. Additionally, there was a smell coming from the bathroom drain that spread into the entire room, as the bathroom door was left fully open.

On the plus side, the bed was okay, and the sheets and towels seemed clean. Breakfast was average—it depends on what you're looking for. The cafe bar area was nicer than the rooms.

Overall, while the location is great, the experience could be improved with better attention to room maintenance and guest comfort.

Very welcoming and lovely place to stay. Anhar on reception was very helpful and made the stay very relaxing and enjoyable. Ideal location of the hotel as well in the city centre, can't go wrong 😊|Food was lovely as well and the room was very nice with everything you need!
