What a dump. Great location and pleasant enough staff but that’s the only good things. It’s old dirty and in serious need of either a good clean or new carpets and paint. Some of the locals who hang out there are seriously dodgy too. For the price paid there are much better places. I wouldn’t stay there again

The hotel is conveniently located nearby the new street station which is excellent. But the rooms is small and old, the bed sheets look grey (tho clean). The mattress is also old. It is okay to stay just 1 night (if you don’t have other choice and budget) but not more than that.

Checked in around 6pm. Could hear chap next door very clearly talking on his speakerphone. From inside the expected solitude of my room. Could hear him cough, rummage around, flick the light switch etc. Wasn't happy but it was just for one night and hoped he'd be gone or be asleep later. 1am, wake to hear the pleasant sounds of him snoring through the walls. Decided to notify reception so they can't say I should have told them about it at the time. Their response? "Thank you for letting us know". Literally. No apology. No offer to change rooms. Nothing. Review posted at 1:30am... Not happy at all.

From the previous reviews, I thought it would be a total dump! Was pleasantly surprised that it exceeded my expectations as a 3 star hotel stay. Beds were comfortable, rooms were tidy, no hairs. No surprises. Shower spilled out on floor but plenty of towels provided to mop up. Front desk was a proper job, courteous, efficient and friendly. Thanks!

Room was ok, nice clean carpets and decent size to with a lot of channels, but dated rooms (Needs modernising) Needs more heating also (was freezing) maybe the heating that you can control like the air conditioning ones that blow hot or cold air would be better! Bathroom had no heating at all and the bed wasn’t very comfortable, didn’t sleep well. Other than that the staff were friendly and the location is brilliant!

This was by far the worst hotel experience I've ever had in any city in any country. From the moment I walked in, there were countless people cluttering the lobby & the stairs up to the rooms, including quite a few unsavoury looking characters among them. Myself & my party had some very uncomfortable stares in our direction.The man working at the Check-in desk tried to double charge me for the room that I had already paid for. It took showing him my email receipt to convince him that I'd already paid.The room itself was dirty, the the bedsheets not being made, the floor hadn't been vacuumed, there were some questionable stains on the floor & on some of the walls & the door felt very flimsy, even with the double lock on. The other members of my party had similar experiences in both of their rooms. Within 10-15 minutes of checking in, we decided to leave & find an alternative hotel. On our way out, there were two men drinking cans of Stella next to the Check-in desk...This was at 2:30pm!Later that night, I returned only to use the toilet as it was closer than going back to the alternative hotel. I discovered that one of our room doors was wide open, when it had definitely been locked on the way out. Keep in mind, we had not officially checked out of these rooms yet. Having a quick glance inside, it appeared as though someone had broken in, looking for something to steal! Thankfully, we had not left any of our belongings behind in any of the rooms.I have never felt more unsafe in a hotel establishment. It is supposed to be a safe space that caters to their guests. I don't think I could've brought myself to sleep in the Comfort Hotel if I had chosen to remain there for the night. PLEASE AVOID!

I have read quite a few reviews from other's and I must admit, I am in complete shock, I booked in on 31st of January 2025, and was on the 4th floor which in all honesty wasn't good for my mobilty, so the following day I spoke to the Duty manager called Maj and he said to me Chris I will move you to a lower floor as soon as possible, and low and behold on the following Tuesday morning he gave me a room on the first floor, and every day the cleaners knock my door to see if room requires cleaning or if I need anything, Must point out my room is clean, no mould, no damp, just to finish off with the Bar (the station) again great staff, Bar Manager, Jodie, Emma and Anne just like Maj cannot do enough for you, Thank you all from the bottom of my heart. Definitely be back 💯%

Stayed there quite a few times and it's really nice n comfortable staff are great any problems they sort it out straight away no hassle they are very friendly great location to explore birmingham and surrounding areas
