We stayed at York Crescent Guesthouse, where the host was a warm and hospitable Moroccan. The house was clean and tidy, giving us a sense of home warmth. The host also kindly recommended local delicacies and attractions, treating us like friends. Highly recommended to all travelers—we’ll definitely stay here again on our next visit!

Amazing place to stay, the hosts are so accommodating and friendly. The rooms are spacious, with a coffee machine including the pods, kettle, teabags, sugar, milk and on arrival you have a complimentary chocolate. The shower is powerful and easy to use. You are literally only a 10 min walk away from the centre of York and there is on street parking available at a really low cost of £5 per day. Definitely staying there again and would recommend to others.

We came to York for 3 days and stayed at The Crescent Guesthouse! First of all it has been taken over by new Moroccan owners and they were warm and welcoming straight from the moment we stepped through the door! We had room G2 which had new carpets and a new comfy bed! The room came equipped with a coffee machine and kettle as well as biscuits! I loved the chocolate on the pillow which was also a nice touch! They explained to us that they had recently taken over and were working through room by room redecorating and upgrading everything! They were also working on a new communal kitchen and I could see the amount of effort they were putting into the property! One of the owners Mo was very helpful and made sure we had everything we needed from extra milk and coffee etc. He even recommended to us places to visit in Morocco as we’re curious about the country for future trips. The rooms were very clean and peaceful and we had no problems at all during our visit. So no complaints! The stay was affordable and I will certainly come here again in the future ! Highly recommended!

We recently stayed at The Crescent Guest House for 3 nights and from start to finish it was a lovely experience. The host Mo was hugely welcoming on arrival and managed to upgrade us to a double room as with it being busy we could only book a twin room at the time. Room was spotless and smelt fresh and road noise wasn't an issue at all due to the double windows installed. The coffee machine was a nice addition and being within 5 mins walk to city centre it was easy to get breakfast. Parking was much cheaper than most other hotels we looked at, only being £5 a day and Mo arranged this for us promptly on arrival. Overall it was perfect for my girlfriend and I and I'd highly recommend staying here particularly for a weekend break. The weather in York happened to be great so that just made it all the better 🙂

Extremely friendly inn-keeper, and an excellent location for the price. The room is basic but clean, with a spare heater and good value for money. There's a also a new communal kitchen with a coffee machine, though I didn't use it. Would recommend for anyone wanting something value for money and near the city centre.

Good location close to city walls , 15min walking distance from train station. Good English breakfast included in the room price. Room decent not fancy, perhaps a small renovation could be useful. Our room was at 3rd floor without lift so maybe is difficult for those with lot of baggages. The shower was fine with a lot of pressure despite being on the upper floor. It wasn’t possible to leave luggages after check out due to serious personal problem of the owner but in general he was very friendly willing to assist as was the one of the two ladies (dark hair) responsible for breakfast, always polite.

What a lovely spot. Close to centre so an easy walk into town.|The room was very clean, basic but with little luxuries tissues, coffee machine, an extra heater.|The owner was very friendly, would not let us carry our bags up and down the stairs he even looked after them for us on our last day. Nothing was too much trouble.|I hope we go back.

I had an amazing stay at The Crescent Guesthouse in York! From the moment I arrived, the warm and friendly welcome made me feel right at home. The staff went above and beyond to ensure everything was perfect, and their genuine hospitality really stood out.||The room was spotlessly clean, spacious, and thoughtfully decorated, with all the comforts I needed for a relaxing stay. The bed was incredibly comfortable, ensuring a great night’s sleep, and the little touches like fresh towels and complimentary toiletries were much appreciated.||The location was also fantastic—just a short walk from the city center and all the key attractions, yet peaceful and quiet at night.||I can’t recommend The Crescent Guesthouse enough! It’s a charming place with exceptional service, and I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again on my next visit to York.
