Very nice hotel around a 10 minute walk from the city centre. Rooms are well furnished, modern and clean and we enjoyed the quirky room designs. King sized beds are a definite plus too!
There are a couple of nice to haves that would make it even better like complimentary bottled water or tissues, but nothing that would stop me from staying again!

This was a beautiful hotel in an old mansion only a short walk from York city centre. We loved the feel of the hotel, and found our stay to be really relaxing. The staff were always helpful and friendly. ||Breakfast was incredibly relaxed and well organised, with self service continental and ordering your hot food for table service. The food seemed great quality and was always well stocked.||The room was stylish and comfortable, and cleaned daily. We had a maintenance issue the one night and were immediately moved to another room by the helpful lady on reception.||Would definitely stay here again and would recommend.

We were mildly disappointed with our stay over the easter weekend. We did manage to bag a parking space (there are only about 10) on the first night, we then used the adjacent school. Parking at the hotel is £14 and the school £18. The hotel is on a busy road, and is an easy 20 min walk to the centre. We were in 310, it was a very small room, nice decor. Major problem for us was the window was painted shut so there was no way to get fresh air, just awful. The house keeping was poor. Our bed wasn't made properly any of the days. Sunday night we returned to no top up of toilet roll and half used water bottles left - that weren't ours!! The bar was expensive, we didn't eat there so cannot comment on the food. All the staff we encountered were friendly and helpful.

Tucked in a side street in York, this is a rather wonderful art nouveau gem of a hotel. The decor is beautiful and there are lovely little touches wherever you look. Reception was friendly and efficient - it's always nice when the receptionist stands up to greet you. Our room was plenty large enough with a well thought out bathroom and a very comfortable bed. The side table did need a wipe, but a quick call to reception brought someone to sort that out within a couple of minutes. |The bar is small but absolutely fine with a decent choice of drinks, and the restaurant is ok too. The menu was limited and the food along the lines of pub grub, rather than trying for 'fine dining', but our burgers were very tasty and freshly cooked.|Our visit did not have time for any exploration of York, but the hotel is well sited - we walked from the railway station in about ten minutes. Definitely somewhere we will try to book for the next time we visit York.

This is a really nice hotel to get away from the usual high rise places. It is a very nice walk to city center with plenty of pubs and restaurants along the way.
The restaurant at here in the hotel is good if you want a nice cosy place to be away from crowds.
The staff is very professional and attentive to and caring to details of the place.
Niamh at the restaurant was very professional and courteous with great customer service.
I will definitely recommend this place and will definitely come back soon.

Fabulous hotel stay.what a great choice of hotel ! It has an amazing feel to it as soon as you walk into and all decor suiting the older traditional|Buildings of York . The receptionist was lovely on entering the hotel very friendly and helpful.we left our bags before having a couple of drinks outside on the terrace in the gorgeous sun before |going onto our arranged day out .| On returning our room was lovely and clean and olde worlde in a good way. The bathroom was stunning with a great walk in power shower,all with quality furnishings and finishes throughout |the grand stair case washing upto the floors was elegant and fitted the tote|Perfect.|We had a great breakfast the next morning and have nothing but praise for the lovely staff members ! Nothing was too much trouble .|The no4 bus outside gets you into town quickly and is regular. We got an Uber car back costing £8 |All in all a great stay. Hopefully we will back

This is a lovely small hotel, with rich art deco decor. The rooms are warm, the bed is the best I’ve been in, in the week I’ve been in the UK. Feather pillows, thank you! The staff is stellar. I am a solo woman traveler, and I have been made to feel welcome, valued, and safe. It’s a 10 minute walk to the Micklegate entrance to the historic center of York. I decided to stay an extra day because I am so comfortable in this hotel, in this lovely old city. Highly recommend.

An overall enjoyable stay. A classic hotel, that is timelessly refurbished to a high quality.

My room was spacious and comfortable, and well suited to this old school hotel. A nice big comfy bed, and room to work with a good sized desk. The rooms were cool and quiet, however they took quite a while to get warm. The staff were polite and pleasant, with plenty of smiles to go around. It was nice to see them over the two nights I was there enjoying their jobs too.

The restaurant menu was a bit limited, but the food was okay. It was cooked up quickly and was hot. Breakfast was continental, with a hot breakfast ordered on demand.

Parking is paid for on checkout and VERY limited. EV charging is also onsite, but often blocked as it’s some of the few spaces available and cannot be reserved.

Would stay again on my next visit.
