Lovely flat with a nice front room and conservatory as well as a bedroom with shower and toilet. The bathroom is very modern but very small. We didn’t find this an issue for two nights. Location was perfect for the town centre. Definitely worth a short stay.

We were staying in Skipton for a wedding nearby. At first the landlady seemed nice, but she had warned us not to spill anything on the newly fitted WHITE carpets in the guest rooms, which we didn’t, and to remove our shoes, which we did. We thought white carpets were rather an impractical choice for guest rooms, but were too polite to say so. My friends were staying at the nearby Curious Fox (which was excellent in every way) and the landlady had said my friends were welcome to socialise in the sun room at Raikes Barn. One of my friends left at 11:30pm, and the other one stayed to chat til around 3am. During that time the landlady knocked on the adjoining door and complained we were making too much noise. We were just chatting, not playing music, and there was just 2 of us. She also told us to turn off the light! She repeatedly texted and called my friend at the Curious Fox while she was trying to sleep, complaining about the talking. In the morning we went to the wedding and on our return found that the landlady had been into our rooms that we had hired for 2 nights, and she had moved our belongings and taken our wine. She had also removed the recycling that we had kept aside out of the bin which we were going to take away. The landlady has an internal window overlooking the sun room, from where she watches her guests, but pretends that she doesn’t. The next morning we tidied the rooms and left. There was not a single mark on her white carpets, and we even carefully replaced the excessive number of cushions that were all over the place. As we crossed the car park of the Curious Fox, the landlady chased after us screaming loudly that we hadn’t paid the £5 parking fee. We immediately paid, as it was just an oversight. However, the landlady started shouting at us then, saying we had made too much noise and accused my friends of staying at the Raikes Barn when in fact they had stayed at the Curious Fox. She insulted us, called us names and said she was very disappointed in us and that we were terrible people! We did not respond, as it was just unbelievable. We are all respectable professionals, had paid in full, in advance, for the use of the rooms, and had treated her premises with respect. We were there for a joyous occasion, which was marred by our terrible experience at Raikes Barn, which is still spoiling the lovely memories that were made that weekend. Besides the awful landlady, the bathroom was ridiculously small and the shower was fixed at HOT, with no means of lowering the temperature so it was very difficult to take a shower. The sink was tiny! We couldn’t even wash a cup in it. There was a hot water machine for use instead of a kettle, but it fell apart. The parking was a long walk away and wasn’t free. We weren’t offered any room service at any time. And the bells in the morning were deafening! Skipton has a lot of churches, which all chime their bells at the same time, in an ear-splitting cacophony that spoils any Sunday morning. We won’t be staying again.

SCAM!! Beware, it isn't a legit B&B. I let them know of my arrival time and they turned me away on arrival! The landlady shouted at us from her window saying she won't host us. Me and my husband drove 5h from Scotland to get there and not have a room for the weekend!!! I've been disputing this with booking.com for weeks and they won't give us the £260 back. I've never experienced anything like this in my entire life!! FRAUD!!

Stayed for one night, first visit to Skipton, lovely historic Yorkshire town. The accommodation was based in the centre. Parking was available. |The property was spotless! Plus the appropriate Covid precautions where is place. |The place is extremely spacious and the cosy sofas are very welcome, it’s had the feel of a hotel suite. The owner Lorraine was very welcoming and helpful. She should be proud of the accommodation she provides.. 1st Class.

If I could put ZERO stars I could. First off - listed as a hotel, its a busy house with a cranky old woman and her dog. We booked in advance, told her in advance we'd be getting there later in the evening, and when we arrived she refused to let us in! Started yelling at us from her bedroom window. Also refused to give us a refund *which, apparently booking.com makes you take it up with the landowner which is ridiculous*. So yeah, stay away from this place entirely!

Larraine was very welcoming and extremely helpful. Located in a great spot for exploring Skipton. Room was lovely and clean, bed was super cosy, lots of lovely touches such as bottled water, fresh milk, hot drinks. Also toiletries which you may have forgotten. Fresh towels and bath mat daily. Great shower. Dressing gowns and blankets a plenty... there may be an ironing fairy too! Thankyou!
Lovely place for couples to enjoy some quiet time. Plenty of restaurants and cafes around.
Thankyou so much for a lovely stay Larraine

* Excellent COVID awareness and preparations! *||Our host was exceptional, the accommodation is brimming with high quality products from Molton Brown toiletries, branded complimentary refreshments to the fluffiest towels you could wish for.||Yes the en-suite bathroom is ‘bijou’ but how much time does one spend in there? We were even offered access to a larger one if we preferred but it was absolutely fine for our needs. ||We had a wonderful, warm welcome, slept like logs and nothing was too much trouble throughout our stay, Larraine really is the best, most considerate host! ||The location is perfect for all of the attractions Skipton has to offer and within walking distance of some wonderful restaurants.||We would not hesitate to return, couldn’t have wished for a better stay!

Lovely location, lovely accommodation and lovely lady. Very clean, a comfortable bed and it was nice to have a separate lounge area of our own to relax in. Everything was within a few minutes walk - Would stay again if visiting Skipton. Well recommended.
