My partner and I stayed here over a weekend in July for a wedding taking place nearby. It is situated in the little village of Embsay, the location was perfect as it was less than 10 minutes drive from Bolton Abbey, where the wedding was taking place, and is 2 miles from the lovely town of Skipton, where there is a beautiful castle and forest walk, and lots of amenities. ||||We booked the twin room with ensuite, it was a lovely bright room with a decent shower room, toilet and basin. The beds were really comfy and the room was very quiet and peaceful. The room also had tea/coffee making facilities, a TV and a hairdryer.||||The couple who run the B&B were really friendly and gave us advice on what to do locally. We were pleasantly surprised with the whole experience, and would definitely return.The breakfast was wonderful, with the choice of different fruit juices, cereals, granola, yogurts and fruits. We opted for the full english both mornings as the sausages and bacon were really tasty and sourced from the local butchers.||||The local pub called the Elm Tree had great food and friendly staff. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Rockwood House and would definitely return again!

Stayed at this guest house for two nights 24th and 25th Feb. The hosts were very welcoming as soon as we arrived we were given fresh milk to make tea/coffee in our room. The whole of the house was immaculately cleaned, the bed very comfortable. As our room was at the front of the house the views were spectacular from our window.||Breakfast lovely, lots of choice, fruit, yogurt, cereal, fruit juice (lots of flavours), toast, delicious full English breakfast.||The hosts very welcoming and hospitable. There is a lovely friendly pub just a 2 minute walk away who sell lovely food should you not want to venture into Skipton.

My husband and I stayed at Rockwood with our 4 month old son for a wedding last weekend. We were very impressed! |Our room was big and bright, and spotlessly clean. The bed was very comfortable with plenty of room for my son in his Moses basket next to me. |The hosts were incredibly polite, friendly and helpful, and their full English breakfast was amazing (it definitely helped my hangover!). |The only slight downside, if you could call it that, was that the curtains were white and unlined; and the bedroom got very light as soon as the sun came up which woke me up! |I would 100% recommend this B&B to anyone wanting a weekend away in Yorkshire. It's in an excellent location, very close to Skipton and the dales. Fantastic views and fantastic hosts!

Our room was bright and spacious and beautifully decorated. On our arrival we were given fresh milk to take to our room as we were every day when we returned from a trip out. The breakfasts were excellent. Parking is at a public car park just across the road which was busy during our stay although we always managed to park there except on our arrival. The B&B is in an excellent location, only a short drive from Skipton. We visit Yorkshire every year and wouldn't hesitate to stay there again. A minor negative comment: we wished the towels had been bigger.

A very good B&B in the heart of Yorkshire 5 minutes’ drive from Skipton. Good central location for a walking holiday. You have a very nice Pub 50 yards from the Guest House called the Elm Tree which has very good evening meals. Rooms well equipped with everything you would need, very homely with a good breakfast in the morning. Value for money. The car parking is across the road in a public car park which is acceptable. Just one note of caution when coming out of the Guest house the front gate opens out onto the main road. There are no issues with this just be aware. All in all we had a lovely time here.

This gem is brilliant, we were visiting Skipton but wanted to stay just outside, so pleased I found this place, the owner is so nice, nothing seems to be any trouble. The room was amazing, very clean and very comfortable . The breakfast was up there with the best and set us up for the day ahead. I would recommend this place in heart beat and will certainly stay there again. We loved it , very well positioned and is would even suggest a trip around the corner to the railway station.

Our experience doesn't match with the other reviews. The small room was made smaller by the creation of the small en-suite shower room; consequently neither room was really of adequate size. The shower was just a dribble, hardly adequate to wash soap off. Breakfast was adequate but not special in the way many B&B hostesses make it. In fact we had the impression that she wanted us out as soon as possible so that she could get on with the task she had set herself for the day, to shampoo the carpets.

My self and my husband stayed 2 nights from 28/02/14 to 02/03/14, we were made to feel very welcome, the house was clean and tidy, our room fresh and spotless newly decorated.Breakfast super, Jean was very help full with ideas of places to visit,and how to get to them.
The House is ideally situated close to Skipton, and all other areas of interest, parking ample, we highly recommend a stay here we shall return.
