This is the perfect pub for a few days away in Haworth. Great food, service, people and position. Right at the top of the beautiful cobbled road. With an array of fabulous shops, cafes , bakers and restaurants.
A few minutes walk from the famous Bronte sisters museum, a few minutes walk to the steam railway station .
If you like old pubs this is a good one. Also has it's own carpark. As parking can be hard to find in the centre of Haworth. Our evening meal was superb. My good lady had chicken breast in peppercorn sauce with potatoes and a choice of vegetables. I had chicken and chorizo in ribbons of pasta in a sauce. It's was fabulous hot spicy and very tasty. Desserts a simple apple pie with custard and a delicious sticky toffee pudding. Both excellent, all food cooked in-house. We had room 6 with views looking right down the cobbled road. A good double aspect room. So light, bright and airy. Price £113.00 a night incl breakfast. Which was definitely the best all English breakfast I've had in a long time.
The staff were just perfect, when we arrived we had a problem with the booking. They said there is no booking in your name. Even when we produced our details they still had no booking. After 20 minutes of emails phone calls and talking with a robot !!!!!. They found what the trouble was and we were quickly in our room. Highly recommend this old world pub.

We have just come back from a wonderful stay at this lovely hotel. We arrived and were greeted by very friendly and helpful staff on the front desk. Our room (number 4) was very clean with plenty of towels, tea/coffee facilities and bathroom bits! Bar and restaurant staff were rushed off their feet ( Steampunk Festival weekend) but were brilliant! There was plenty of choice on the breakfast menu and the evening meal we had on our last night was one of the best we've had in a long time!|BBQ chicken kebabs with salad and fries... out of this world! Thankyou for a very memorable weekend! I've already booked for next year!|Fran Jenkins

Beautiful old pub, lovely atmosphere. The food was reasonably priced and of excellent quality. I didn't stay overnight here so I can't comment on the rooms. I'd definitely eat here again and rate the food to be superior to some of the more expensive restaurants in the area that were very much hyped. I had beautifully cooked duck breast with a lovely cherry sauce and my partner had perfectly cooked and seasoned rib eye steak. Staff were friendly and service was good.

We enjoyed our stay the rooms are a bit dated but very comfy. The staff are so friendly and the location is on the main street in Haworth it's perfect. Another little nig from all four of us who stayed. We wasn't told we could have fried bread and ash browns with our breakfast ! I don't eat eggs or mushrooms so these items would of replaced them and made it better. Albeit a good stay.

Whilst staying in Haworth we visited the White lion on two occasions. The food was good home cooking and there was a wide variety of food. The portions were generous and the service very prompt. If you're looking for something abit different to the normal pub menus this is for you. Would definitely recommend.

Popped in this afternoon for a bite to eat. Had a pint of YPA, really nice pint, they look after their beer very well. Me and my partner both had the Sunday Roast, can't fault it in any way, the gravy was 2nd to non, it was so good I had to ask for more. I then had the chocolate torte for dessert, again no complaints there, all in all we both said how good the food, drinks and service was and we will definitely be returning.

This is going to be an honest points review |1) On arrival clean and fresh with a welcome staff (4)|2)Room, dusty corners back of the doors in draws radiators, fitted carpet loose (2)|3 In adequate soft door closer, 5 out of 8 ceiling bulbs broken (1)|4) Heating was set by TRV nice refit in the bath room good size towels (4)|5) The shower was poor pressure, but the water was hot poorly fitted bath (2)|6) Damaged plug socket which was not dangerous, but difficult to use (1)|7) Food meals where fabulous fair prices nice breakfast (4)|8 Hot drinks somewhere about 80/85 degrees (2)|We had a great time at the white lion hotel but expected a little more for £585. 00 with meals included for three nights. Would we go again? A definite NO! With the bar bill and other attraction's plus travel cost around £875.00.

This is a lovely traditional pub. Gives a real feeling of stepping back in time to a traditional friendly pub with a lovely welcoming atmosphere. The accommodation is lovely with everything you need, tea, coffee, biscuits, hairdryer, fresh towels , bath products etc. very clean. Breakfast was gorgeous and evening meals are top notch. Eaten here and stayed here a few times and would definitely recommend
