Visited for my daughter’s 18th birthday. Booking for 2 rooms was made very easily over the phone. The lady receptionist - Caroline - was extremely helpful & recommended a fantastic room for my daughter, & kept in touch with me prior to our arrival to answer my queries. When I arrived on the Saturday she very kindly allowed me access to my daughter’s room to enable me to decorate it as a surprise. |The 4 poster room I ordered for her was good value in my opinion, however the cost for my double room for single occupancy I felt was a bit steep||Hotel is ideally situated in the centre of arundel, with a car park at the rear||Unfortunately the breakfast the following day was a big disappointment. We pre booked a table for three but upon arrival the server had to scrabble about pushing 2 tables together. The young man serving was clearly on his own & despite trying* his best, appeared to be rather overwhelmed. |The buffet breakfast was rather lacking, with only 2 stale croissants the whole t8me we were there, & some pretty stake & unappealing pain au chocolates - certainly not the ‘choice of pastries’ advertised. There also was little or no crockery at the buffet table, & the juices kept running out. |I realise it is often hard to retain good staff, but feel the price we paid for 3 breakfasts, the service & quality of our experience was seriously lacking. ||I did not wish to spoil my daughter’s weekend by raising the issue whilst there, so emailed after our return home. I feel my issues were brushed off by the manager, with no offer of a partial refund, or goodwill payment being offered. ||If it had not been for poor service experienced at breakfast, & the way my complaint was dealt with, the hotel would certainly have been given a higher rating.

We fancied a night away and noticed the Autumn break offer. This was - 1 nights stay, 2 course dinner and breakfast. Total cost £149 which sounds like great value right well…||We upgraded to have a room in the main hotel for £4 extra, and wish we hadn’t bothered. This was old, tired looking and probably needed redecorating.||Off to dinner we went..the menu sounded ok but this is where things went wrong. I went for the Hanger steak. However this was inedible, it was so chewy you simply couldn’t get through it. Which lead me no option but to complain. There were no waitresses/waiters about so I reported to reception. The young lady on reception desk was very apologetic and said she would ask someone to see me. A few minutes later a waiter appeared and understood my issue but the best he could offer me was two free drinks, this was because there was no management onsite or contactable, it was now too late for another main meal to be cooked appropriately. He said he would go away and try and work something out but. After a while he returned and the best he could do was give us the bottle of wine we had free of charge and free overnight parking (£7:50).|By this time I was really hungry so accepted his offer and we ate somewhere else. |I find it shocking that no management were available to deal with these sort of situations, it shouldn’t be left to inexperienced staff members like this.|Hence I don’t expect we will return.

Perfect location for the town & castle. Old rambling hotel as expected. The room was good although there was mold in the shower. The reception area was drab & could have been cheered up with minimal effort. Our evening meal was excellent, limited menu but good quality with good service. The breakfast was fine but limited options. As per the specimen menu on line .

We had our wedding breakfast and reception at the Norfolk Arms, and we couldn't be happier. Everything went as well as we could have possibly hoped for, both leading up to and especially on the day. They met and exceeded our expectations, with both the food and service being exemplary and the staff being eager and available any time we needed anything. |Especially we were grateful for, when faced with a difficult situation with two of our elderly guests, they bent over backwards to accommodate them and we are extremely pleased with how they handled it. |I also have to single out their wedding planner who did amazing work, and we were suitably impressed by her dedication and attention to detail. Without her, and the rest of the staff, the day would not have been the success it ended up being.||Of course we were also happy with the room, which had a quaint and historic charm that we hope to be able to more properly enjoy at a future date. Our guests who stayed the night were all happy with the accomodations as well as the breakfast on the following day.

We stayed here for 2 nights whilst visiting Arundel for a long weekend break & I could not fault this Hotel. Very polite/friendly reception staff made checking in and out a pleasure. I had booked a Superior room, and it did not disappoint at all - Room 007 must be the best room here, don’t think I have ever seen such a large bathroom - and there was a 2nd large TV in there. Add on a comfy 4 poster bed and everything you could need drink wise - it was perfect. Breakfast was very nice, good choice and again the service was spot on. Arundel itself is lovely and the Norfolk Arms Hotel couldn’t be better positioned. Ample easy parking around the back at £7.50 per night was a bonus - so would we stay here again ?………..oh yes, definitely !

I do not usually leave a review, but felt the service received deserved one. We stayed for a family wedding reception held at the Ballroom in Norfolk Arms hotel.||||The whole time there, arrived Friday afternoon and left Sunday morning, we were all treated really well. The meal and service during the wedding was incredible.||Thank you to all staff for the experience we received.

I believe from the pictures on the website that the quality of the rooms in this hotel differs a lot. My single room was very small and old and shabby. The information on the website said that all the single rooms would have windows to the street and in the pictures there are two big windows in the single rooms, in my room the window was small and not possible to look out from, it was a backyard. I was a bit disappointed to begin with and still okay because it is a old building.|During the first night my asthma and allergy went bad, a reaction to the old shabby carpet on the floor. I mentioned it in the reception in the morning and first the man said that I had not informed about my asthma allergy in the booking. I had forgotten to do that.| Another gentleman was very compassionate and concerned about my problem of breathing in the room. He informed about three modern rooms with tree floors and that he would look into the possibility for me to change room.| I even went back to my room and packed my suitcase and I got the impression that the situation was solved. I went to my conference, released because it is very uncomfortable to be sick with asthma, coughing and heavy breathing and the medicine did not help me enough.|When I went back to the hotel at the lunch break they said I could not get another room. I was very surprised and disappointed. |This was very unprofessionaly handled and when we have the next conference in Arundel in February I will definitely book another hotel. |This is the first time in my life a hotel did not help me when I had health issues because of a old carpet. I could even see they had free rooms with wooden floor on the website and I even asked if I could be in the modern part of the hotel with a new and frech carpet on the floor. No solution or willingness to help me at all.

Amazing hotel, amazing staff, manager, rooms (comfortable beds) and restaurant food. They couldn’t do enough to help my disabled and unwell Father and ensured we had a wonderful stay in Arundel. |Arundel itself was a delight and the hotel is the perfect location to take in the charms. Hope to return in the Spring.
