Another 'been past loads of times but never ventured in'. Wow!. Modern decoration with a crisp clean decor gives off an 'up market' vibe. Paula our waitress was not only humerous & professional (as where the two other staff members) but she was bubbly (something sadly lacking in todays world imho). Filled up very quickly & now we know why...the food was 'bang on'. I (as usual) went for the Man v Large fish n Chips served with mushy peas, Tartare sauce, lemon wedge & a garnish of what I presume were peas shoots (very tasty). Fish was huge, cooked to perfection with a light but crispy batter. Chips were crunchy & peas/tartare sauce fresh (again not enough mushy peas but hey)!. Mrs P plumbed for the Roast Chicken breast, dauphinois potatoes, pan seared green beans & garnished with pea Shoots. It did come with a Baby onion & red Currant jus but she left this out. A little longer than expected wait but we can tell you it was well worth that wait. Washed down with an ice cold draught Peroni. 🍻

We didn't stay in a room so can comment but we will say this. If the venue, staff & food were anything to go by then The Rufford Arms is absolutely top notch. First time visit...will not be our last!!! Take a visit youll not be dissapointed🫠🍽

Booked on a whim for a Bank Holiday lunch with some friends, 4 adults and two teenagers. My husband had seen an advert for the picnic boards so we thought we would give them a try. Arrived and were seated straight away as it was quieter than expected for a bank holiday. The staff were very friendly and attentive. When the picnic boards arrived they looked beautiful. We had a delicious veg soup whcih all party members loved, a mini quiche a sausage roll, two cheese whilrs and some french fries. Everything was well cooked and delicious, especially the cheese whirls which were extremely moreish.|The pudding plate had a scone, complete with jam amd cream, a bakewell tart slice and a really gooey fudgy brownie. Again delicious. We all had a hot drink to with the picnic board aprt fromm the kids who were offered a soft drink as an alternative.|Everyone agreed we will definitley be booking again.

Attended today for Sunday lunch and was disappointed. The lamb was stringy and the Yorkshire puddings were hard. ||The selection of vegetables was fantastic and everything was hot. Service was good.||We ordered a side of cauliflower and Broccoli cheese. Usually, this is the best part of a Sunday lunch but sadly not here. It was just steamed vegetables with a thin cheese sauce poured over which didn't even coat the veg. This is not what we would expect at all. It should be a thick sauce with additional cheese on top and baked until it has a crust and colour. We brought it to the attention of the waiter and he spoke to the kitchen but apparently that's how it's served!

A really enjoyable evening meal at The Rufford Arms. The food was delicious as always and we really enjoyed the Pinot Grigio which was genuinely one of the nicest I have ever tasted. The service was great and the staff friendly. The menu is very varied catering for all tastes and some good gluten free options which we needed. Can’t wait to go again!

The four of us enjoyed our meals from the 2 courses for £25 menu. There was an excellent choice, the size of the meals ample and beautifully cooked. Service from all staff members was fantastic too. Will definitely return and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend.

Me and my wife took my mother and father in-law to this wonderful establishment for a meal, the atmosphere, friendly and very welcoming staff, surroundings and most importantly the food was exceptional and the prices given the current financial climate was fair.
This is definitely a place we will be looking forward to returning to again.
Well done to all the staff at The Rufford Arms.

This was our first visit in many years. The whole experience, for my Mother-in-laws Mother’s Day meal, was excellent. |The staff were very attentive and the food excellent. A member of our party could not have dairy or gluten and all her food was adapted accordingly.|Thank you for a lovely afternoon. We look forward to returning very soon.

We were not staying, we had my sister's 80th birthday lunch there. I have been to the restaurant many times; I had my 80th, and my late husband's 90th birthday lunch there. The owner and staff cannot do enough to make things special.|The food and service are always top rate and I would highly recommend the Hotel whether staying or not.
