This is a little gem of a campsite. A stunningly well looked after, clean and quiet campsite, for adults only.
Not having kids, it's nice to be able to go to places that don't have kids running around screaming.
The lady that runs it is lovely and welcoming, and the whole place has a very relaxing vibe.
There are firepits, which are free to use (kindling and logs available for £10 for a big bag of both), and a vineyard next door serving wine, beer and freshly made pizzas. There are also local takeaways that will deliver to your pitch on site.
Very impressed and will definitely return.

Very peaceful with no kids so if you are looking for peace and quie with no children whatsoever...... This is somewhere you won't go wrong. Toilets are very clean and staff are super friendly. I'd suggest leveling blocks as the pitches aren't perfectly flat but the grass was really soft and fluffy under bear feet. Showers are portable showers which are nice and warm but a partition wall and shelving for clothes would have made it more enjoyable. Other than that would highly recommend a visit and a stay at this campsite. Thanks Julie for the hospitality

Wow we have just got back from 3 nights stay at this wonderful campsite. Julie and her hubby are very welcoming 💜 the best thing is it's adult only 🙌 which makes it a very peaceful stay. It's dog friendly too. 🐶
The toilets are immaculate. We had a beautiful pitch no 11 looking right over to the horses and sheep. No tents in front of us to block our view . And it was a nice flat area too so we didn't roly poly on the slope haha.
Top camp site we will definately be coming back . Pitch 11 please 🙏 😁

Quiet, friendly, adults only, dog friendly site in peaceful countryside surroundings. Perfect for that get-away-from-it-all few days. Facilities are small but clean, with a portashower next to them. Chemical and grey waste disposal on site. Hardstanding and grass pitches, no ehu. Picnic tables on the hardstanding.
Firepits available and logs/kindling for sale.
Owners are friendly but not intrusive.
I loved it. So much so that I went again 2 weeks later and am already planning another visit!!

Lovely site for adults over 25 only (and dogs as long as you keep on lead)! Small and quiet, no music or noise after 11pm, hire a fire pit and drink coca in utter peace! Mainly grass pitches and some gravel ones, no electricity but there's gas heated water and solar lighting. There's a washing up hut with hot water, a shower and toilet facilities which are all kept in very good condition by the on site management. Nice touches of well maintained ground and flower pots make it a pretty place. All looked after by a lovely couple who are very welcoming. The site is good for walking and nature. This site deserves total respect.

Loved it!!

My partner and I decided to have a night away on the bike and after searching for a campsite that allows fires (no where lets you?!) selected Idle Hours.
The reception we got was warm and friendly and we immediately felt welcome.
The atmosphere was calm and relaxed and Paul helped us get our fire going (we are city folks!).
It was a lovely nights stay in a beautiful setting that is rural enough to feel out with nature but close enough to shops that you can pop out for some bits or grab a curry (literally less than 2 miles).

We have stayed at Idle Hours three times and just love it. It is very peaceful, quiet and relaxed. Julie and Paul are so welcoming. The sight is immaculately clean. We loved being able to have a campfire and go fishing. A perfect stay for a few days for total relaxation.
