Stayed here for a spa break booked through spa breaks.com. Rooms were comfortable and spacious. We had dinner and breakfast and the food was great. The spa was excellent and the treatments were had were wonderful. One small area for improvement is the relaxation room after treatments could have been darker and quieter. ||The staff here really make the experience brilliant, very friendly, attentive and professional. We also did a self service wine tasting which was a fun way to finish the evening. Would definately visit again in the future.

EcEWe went on a golf break package; golf for the boys and spa for the girls. Just one night all inclusive - golf, bed, breakfast and dinner. I was a bit concerned having read some of the reviews that it wouldn't be up to scratch! As it was a birthday surprise for my husband - however I need not have worried! Everything was excellent - from the check in to the spa, to the spacious room and clean bathroom. The guys loved the golf, finding it quite a challenging course. The spa was clean, the pool and facilities really good, we all had a treatment - very good. The dinner that was included was really good - 5 of us had steak and chips - a tender steak and nice crispy chips. My daughter had a vegetarian gnocchi - really good. The desserts were also excellent. There were plenty of nice places to sit in and outside. The bar had a good selection of wine, beers and drinks.| I don't really understand the comments of the other reviewers - I've stayed all over the world in all sorts of standard hotels and there was nothing to complain about at Donnington Valley. It was excellent value for money, we would definitely return.! Thank you so much for a lovely surprise birthday night!

We arrived at The Donnington Valley Hotel for a three night golf break.|We had been upgraded with our room. It was lovely it seemed a very big bedroom with a bath and a shower. The staff on the reception were very friendly and professional. The hotel was spotlessly clean .|The staff in the restaurant were very friendly and we never had to wait too long for our meal . . We used the swimming pool which was quite warm |the spa was excellent. We booked treatments at the Spa and was greeted very quickly and friendly. You could see the golf course from many windows.|We would definitely recommend this hotel and we would definitely return.

Huge thanks to Deon, Tracey and African girl on reception. Apologies I forgot your name. They upgraded me to room 230 which is beautiful. Wow what a surprise I got when I opened the door. I had to call and thank them for it. The views over the golf course are exemplary. I always get exemplary treatement here so return often . Nikki manager in the beauty salon is excellent. My therapist Hayley was excellent with my massage. I even booked three |My room service meal was excellent too. Thank you Alex as it is attention to detail. Next time two nights stay and I'm hoping in room 230. See you soon team. I can't wait

I spent a Spa Day at this hotel. My first impression was one of excellent customer service. I was made to feel very welcome. The facilities (health club, spa, pool and the wet rooms, changing rooms) were spotlessly clean. I thoroughly enjoyed my time of relaxation here and would highly recommend the Spa Day, great value for money in a beautiful setting. I wished I had more time there. Was a real treat and lovely experience. A special thank you to the staff whose service made it extra special.

Had a lovely one night stay here to celebrate my daughter’s 18th birthday. Staff were fantastic, we had a free upgrade which was a lovely surprise and the restaurant sang happy birthday to her after our evening meal. The food in the restaurant was amazing and couldn’t fault it. Spa was lovely and breakfast was really nice and staff kept it well topped up. Only complaint was the heat. Even with our window open and a fan in the room (which I brought with me), me and my daughter struggled to sleep. We were overheated in the breakfast room too. Not sure why it was so hot as heating didn’t appear to be on. If it wasn’t for feeling so overheated I’m sure we’d go back here, mainly for the food and friendliness

I wouldn't ever stay here again.

Let's start with the good parts of this hotel, one of the receptionists on our arrival was absolutely lovely. She couldn't do enough to help, the french manager was actually quite nice, but unfortunately wasn't in the control of his staff. The food was okay in the restaurant.
Bad bits
The floor in the bathroom was dirty, and leg hairs on the bottom sheet. A window that didn't open. One of the rooms has a bathroom with a dangerously low beam. The breakfast was poor, the bacon was overcooked, and I love crispy bacon. The eggs weren't hot enough. Lots of the staff struggled with a simple request because of the language barrier.
One of our party went to the wrong hotel, and they changed my credit card when I had explicitly told them to contact the person who hadn't shown up. I was standing talking to the French manager when a very rude receptionist slammed the card receipt down and said, "That's it, you you have paid."
I was absolutely livid.
This same receptionist had been absolutely rude to one of my other colleagues who wanted to stay for an extra night, she argued over the room rate.
No disabled parking at the front of the hotel 😕
It's such a shame it could be such a lovely hotel.

I visited this hotel for a wedding. It was a beautiful venue and the staff involved in the wedding were very accommodating and clearly made it a great day for the couple!

Room was good size, clean and the bed was very comfortable. The room was very warm, It was a particularly hot April day but the air con doesn’t work at this time of year apparently which was a shame, was very hot in the night.

Breakfast was a pretty good spread in the morning and the catering staff were very efficient.

The reception staff unfortunately weren’t quite as warm when speaking to them about breakfast times or asking if our (non guest) friends could pay to use the spa for the day - could have done with a bit of a kinder approach perhaps. Wouldn’t put me off staying again too much though!
