The Bakewell Tart Shop & Coffee House, situated in the main street of Bakewell, is a sweet spot for anyone who digs top-quality pastries and comfort food.

I have a so‑so relationship with Bakewell tarts as there are few and far between, and often they are lacklustre in London. But here their Bakewell tarts and puddings are beautifully made and genuinely good. We loved them so much that we bought both the traditional and coconut Bakewell tart slices to take back to London. I am still not a fan of the iced tarts though.

We also went for the afternoon tea, it was good, though I have had better elsewhere. But the meat pie with gravy hit the mark, hearty and satisfying. Service was top‑notch, and the coffees were expertly made.

The café itself has the small town charm that complements the heritage of the place. Overall, I would recommend The Bakewell Tart Shop & Coffee House especially if you are in the area and craving a properly made Bakewell tart or a comforting pie.

We were given a gift voucher for The Bakewell Tart Shop and what a great gift that turned out to be. We had a wonderful breakfast and took some delicious cakes home. The service was outstanding, we received a warm welcome. The food was cooked well and was very tasty 😋 If you visit Bakewell it's definitely worth a visit, you won't be disappointed. Thank you to all the lovely staff for being so welcoming. If you're worried about consuming the calories the Monsal trail is nearby so you can walk them off.

Hands down, a place that has to be on the itinerary if you’re in Bakewell. Opted for the tart and pudding and both were yum! The flavour came through perfectly, without being excessively sweet and both were equally good. I would say the one you prefer comes down to a textural preference.

Lovely welcoming shop/cafe! Lovely lady behind the shop who greeted us, friendly and attentive staff in the cafe. Had the original Bakewell Tart with Custard and a Cappuccino, coffee was the best I've had in a long time and I love my coffee!! Highly recommend... Purchased a Bakewell Tart for my parents who live farther afield thoroughly enjoyed theirs too!

The Dales Pasty is a must try! Lots of choices, the Manchester raspberry tart was a little too sweet for my liking and the rum ball a little too heavy. The cherry bakewell, rocky road, gingerbread person, lemon curd tart and bakewell slices were excellent! Warm friendly and efficient service

Hands down the best Bakewell tart I've ever tasted. I bought two. The traditional pudding, and the traditional tart. The pudding has puff pastry, the tart shortcrust, my favourite by a long way is the tart. Which has a very rich buttery crust and a smooth almond frangipane. Jam was not too sweet nor too thick but in my own humble opinion just right. This is just pudding perfection. Also if you are into Bakewell tarts as much as me ( it's hands down my favourite ) The prices are very reasonable. They also post but it's very expensive.

I sampled the traditional bakewell, which was delightful! The sweetness of the tart and custard was perfectly balanced. The service was attentive, and Denise was most helpful. The coffee, however, was rather weak for my liking.

Great cafe with a wide selection of local foods. We went for a pasty, 2 fry-ups and a bacon and black pudding sandwich, which all arrived quickly. Delish!
