A wonderful shop in Bakewell! The most delicious puddings, amazing food, lovely atmosphere with wonderful, friendly staff. Our experience was great, we went in for cream tea & the original Bakewell puddings. It was so nice we returned a few days later to have the cooked breakfast, Bakewell tart & deluxe hot chocolate! It was all so yummy! 100% recommend if you are travelling this way to pop in. Thank you ☺️

The Original Pudding Shop is worth going to Bakewell on its own. It is a bakery, coffee shop, gift shop and a fantastic restaurant. We visited the restaurant and it is brilliant. Staff are very friendly and professional. It is a very busy restaurant. The standard of the food is exceptional. Quality and quantity is great
We will certainly visit again next time we visit Bakewell. We took home a Bakewell Pudding to eat later.

Stopped by here for a very early dinner on a road trip up to the lakes. Thought it was closed but one fo the staff overheard us and pointed us to the upstairs luckily! We had the soup of the day which was absolutely delicious! We of course also bought a bakewell tart which was also delicious. Staff were helpful and service was quick.

I was so excited to be in Bakewell and get to the Original Bakewell pudding shop and cafe.

I ordered the Bakewell pudding, which came with custard and some sauce. Honestly, you don't need anything extra other than the pudding itself. The pudding has so much flavour. It is absolutely delicious. I didn't have any of the custard and sauce, just the pudding itself.

I enjoyed it so much so that I bought a few to take back home to freeze and defrost as and when I wanted to have a cheeky pudding.

The ‘old’ original Bakewell pudding shop feels disjointed. You walk in, in your left is a counter with baked goods and straight ahead is an array of beers. 🍻 I was confused as I expected a lot more showcasing of the famous Bakewell pudding. Not a single person working looked happy at all. It almost felt robotic in and out. It is a shame because I was really excited to visit the shop. Anyway I ate an original Bakewell pudding and it was delicious. Worth the drive £2 car parking and quick shuffle to the shop.

We sat in the cafe outside and shared a Bakewell pudding. They brought us both cream and custard to try with the pudding. It was delicious on its own, but it was nice to try options!

We visited the Old Original Bakewell Pudding Shop on 24th June at around 12pm and decided to sit in the small but pleasant outdoor seating area at the back of the shop. We ordered two pulled pork cobs and two flat whites.

While the food was lovely, our experience with the staff left something to be desired. The staff member who took our order came across as quite abrupt, we felt as though we were inconveniencing her just by placing our order. Later, we saw her respond in the same manner to another customer who asked a simple question.

As former shop owners ourselves, we understand how busy things can get, but also how important basic customer service and a friendly manner are. After finishing our meal, we went into the shop to buy a few items. Unfortunately, the staff member at the till didn’t speak a word to us during the transaction , not even a “thank you” or “goodbye” after we politely said both.

It’s a lovely place with great food, but we feel that even a small smile or a bit of friendliness would really enhance the overall experience.
