Such a lovely stay at Hampton Canterbury — made my birthday feel extra special from the moment we walked in!

We were welcomed with a surprise bottle of champagne and a box of chocolates in the room — such a thoughtful touch that instantly set the tone for a memorable stay.

🛏️ The room was spotless, modern, and super comfy — plush bed, powerful shower, and everything you need for a relaxing break.

🍳 Breakfast was fresh and plentiful, with a great mix of hot options and continental treats. And the staff? Absolutely brilliant — friendly, attentive, and always happy to help.

📍Location is ideal — tucked away just enough to be peaceful, but only a short stroll to the Cathedral, shops, and restaurants.

Hampton Canterbury went above and beyond — the perfect blend of comfort, class, and genuine hospitality. Already looking forward to coming back!

A lovely, modern, clean, upscale hotel in an old, creaky, aging but beautiful British town. After 5 nights in old, creaky, airconditionless, tiny rooms, teeny standup showers at traditional B&Bs and Guesthouses...it was an absolute joy to be back in a contemporary present day hotel room with all the modern conveniences such as really hot water in the shower, air conditioning, 24/7 staffed lobby, multiple electric plugs, and an ELEVATOR after walking for miles exploring. |PROS;|-Reasonable price of $370 for 2 nights Thursday - Saturday.|-Large clean modern room(for European standards)|-Large modern bathroom with a spacious shower.|-Friendly Staff all around|-Breakfast Buffet is plentiful and filling, very British. |-Walking distance to all the best sights of Canterbury, shopping, eateries, art galleries, and more.|CONS:|-Difficult to find if you're driving, the hotel cannot be seen from the road and Google Maps might be take you allover.|-Parking is at the Whitefriars Shopping Center indoor parking lot, a short 5-8 minute walk but a chore if you have heavy luggage. |-£25/$35 day for parking...ugh!||Regardless, I highly recommend this hotel, which is especially nice if you don't have a car to park.

We are long-time diamond members and stayed one night at this property in June 2025 (our first stay at this location). The property is conveniently located right near the Cathedral, botanical gardens, restaurants, and shops. The property is in good shape-rooms are small per usual in Europe. The breakfast was well stocked and despite a lot of guests, did not feel overly crowded. We had an unexpected issue at check-in which was not resolved in the way we might have expected, but I think it was a problem with the desk clerk and not the property as a whole. Probably wouldn't stay at the property again because of how the issue was handled, but the property was as expected and would make a nice lodging for anyone.

Very well located chain hotel in the heart of Canterbury. Once in hotel very good - included breakfast good. Queen room with sofa bed was good size. Very easy walking access to cobbled streets and shopping/bars/food options of Canterbury Central and the cathedral. Car access and baggage drop off a bit difficult due to location. Parking is simply - go direct to the Whitefriars multistorey car park and get a pass (park anywhere). Give your ticket to the reception and they sort out a discounted hotel exit ticket/password. Parking is expensive at GBP25 per day but parking is a fundamental issue of Canterbury - there are no other real options. Have to pull bags from parking to hotel - no front of hotel drop off option. Can be very busy on weekends - mid week stay recommended.

Loved this hotel, the location was spot on and right in the centre. The staff were all very friendly and professional. The hotel was immaculately clean and loved the decor. Breakfast was delicious with lots to choose from. Special mention to Ross for his excellent customer service on reception!

A True Gem in Canterbury!

I had an exceptional stay at the Hampton by Hilton in Canterbury—everything from the comfort of the rooms to the warmth of the staff was outstanding. The location is perfect, right in the heart of the historic city, making it easy to explore the cathedral, charming shops, and local attractions.

But what truly made my experience unforgettable were Ms. Ness and Ms. Watawan. These two incredible team members went above and beyond in every way. Their kindness, professionalism, and genuine care for guests radiated throughout my stay. They made me feel not just welcome, but at home. Whether it was offering helpful tips about the city or ensuring every detail of my stay was perfect, they handled everything with grace and a smile.

If you're visiting Canterbury and want a stay filled with comfort, class, and a personal touch—this is the place. And if you're lucky enough to meet Ms. Ness and Ms. Watawan, you're in for something truly special!

We had a great stay at this hotel—perfectly located at the heart of the city centre.The service throughout was friendly and memorable. Watawan checked us in with a warm welcome, making the process smooth and pleasant. Later, we enjoyed a delicious pizza freshly made by Nutch who was very friendly.

Irina and Ness were both lovely to chat with and made us feel truly at home. Highly recommend for both the location and the fantastic team.

The location is the real winner here. Service and rooms are fine, but nothing special. The rooms are actually a bit smaller than average and the staff, while happy to help, don't exactly go above and beyond.

Not really complaining, but I'll share that we had two rooms as diamond status Hilton members checking out before breakfast and when we asked for a coffee to go, they said "sorry not before breakfast". I get that breakfast wasn't ready, but the coffee machine at the bar could have been run for a minute. Front desk folks didn't exactly have a full load early morning.
