Lovely hotel right next to the cathedral in Canterbury. Helpful and friendly staff (Monica especially). Rooms were lovely and the little bar area and breakfast bit was quaint and very in keeping with the area. We had the continental breakfast that comes with the room and they kept checking if we wanted more and were very accommodating. Wonderful view through the window of the room (check on the website if you want to cathedral view). Would definitely stay here again.

Another wonderful stay in this lovely hotel. I’ve been staying in this hotel for more than half a century - I can remember staying here as a child with my mother and brother, and in recent years I’ve stayed here while working as a part time judge in the local Crown Court. Family run, with brilliant loyal staff, it’s like going home when I stay. Nothing is too much trouble - 4 tasteful ties were provided on the first night when I realised I’d left mine at home, and last night I was working late and a neat tray of tea was offered to keep me awake. An evening whisky with the overnight manager is good for conversation and gossip! The rooms are delightfully quirky, with very comfortable beds and high quality bed linen and towels. The rooms are made up daily by an artisan housekeeper who obviously takes pride in making sure that everything is perfect. I’ve never seen a better made up bed! I hesitate to show you the view from the window in my room “Joy” - the Cathedral fills the entire window! Bell ringing practice on Thursday evening is a great distraction as you chat with interesting guests from around the World! And the breakfasts - WOW, just WOW! Can’t wait to return next month!

A charming family run hotel in the heart of Canterbury. A centuries old building has charm and uneven floors and this hotel is no exception. However, the welcome was a warm one and the staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. The is great local knowledge provided to really maximise your stay. The room was comfortable and the bed gave a great night's sleep. ||Hats off to Rob for his recommendations and to everyone for a really lovely stay.

Fantastic location, super super convenient. The staff was very accommodating. The breakfast was delightful. The freshest fruit I’ve ever had for breakfast. I was absolutely thrilled to have a bathtub, which was a priority for me and the best maid we’ve ever encountered. Even the bathtub plug was coiled neatly. We loved the cookies that were left for us each day to have with our tea in the morning.

Amazing experience! Hands down you won’t find a better location to be in in Canterbury - literally right next door to the Cathedral - like you’ll be visiting at the Cathedral and your wifi from the hotel still works lol. The fish & chips place next door on the other side has wonderful fish & chips too! Quirky, cute, and comfortable - the room has everything you need. Best thing about this hotel is Robert who was absolutely fabulous! He went above and beyond - from giving us the recommendation to go to the evening choir service at the Cathedral to waking up super early for our departure to help us with our luggage and give us some breakfast to go. No there is no elevator but honestly all the positives make up for it and this is the only place I will stay whilst in Canterbury. Highly recommend!

The pillows are the fluffiest ever,, but I give them a 5 star for the uniqueness of the Hotel. It's 700 years old!! It has more characteristics and charm than u can imagine. Stairs up down, winding, a bridge walkway across the rooftop to my room with a beautiful view of the Cathedral. The customer service is 10 stars. ROB will become your best friend and comic relief. If you are looking for the American big box hotel this is not it. This is the funnest experience you will have

I travelled with a group of friends and we had rooms spread out in the ensuite side of the hotel. Each room was unique and charming. The twin rooms are quite small, and the double rooms vary considerably is size. But each room was clean and comfortable. The included continental breakfast is served (not buffet) and was delicious. The staff were very helpful, friendly and knowledgable. The only drawback is the number of stairs and narrow hallways to be navigated but was no issue for our group of mobile OAPs!
