Oh wow!

The afternoon tea here is truly exceptional. The whole experience, from the elegant setting to the exquisite food and impeccable service, was simply perfect.

Every element of the afternoon tea was a delight. The flavors were delicate, balanced, and incredibly well-executed, from the savory treats to the decadent sweets. The poppy seed scones were particularly divine. The tea selection was impressive. I had Darjeeling which was a delightful choice.

A huge thank you to Gratsiana for her wonderful service.

Whether you appreciate delicate artisan flavours or not this afternoon tea venue is a must try!

I’m rating the afternoon tea which my friend and I visited on sat 5 October. ||I’ll start with the food delicious and worth the wait. The sandwiches were beautifully presented and tasted as good as they looked. Cakes were all outstanding ! Scones were still warm and tasted fantastic. ||Now my friend and I are seasoned afternoon tea lovers visiting many in the uk some multiple times. ||This was a new me for both of us and had been booked more than a month in advance. ||We arrived early and were seated straightaway. Followed by 2 other tables. |The waitress came over explained the menu and gave us a while to choose our tea. ||This arrived swiftly. And well that’s where our good service ended. |We then ordered our tea within 10-15 minutes of seating. We then waited probably in excess of 50 minutes for it to be delivered. ||We were enjoying our long waited for cakes when a waitress came over to let us know the table would be required back in 25 minutes for the next booking. ||We found it almost impossible to get the waitresses attention for a second pot of tea ( unlimited drinks included if you can get their attention) ||We then felt rushed and like we were being an inconvenience |I think had the sandwiches arrived quicker and we had been told at seating the table was a 2 hour booking we wouldn’t have left feeling the way we did. ||I don’t require a response from the manager apologising for the service as many usually do on Tripadvisor, I’d like an explanation of what they will change so other guests don’t walk out with the same feelings we did.||I ask if the manager would be happy having received the same service themselves for what I consider a premium afternoon tea experience

What a hidden gem in the heart of Birmingham. The architecture of the hotel inside and out is absolutely amazing and the attention to detail the hotel offers is some of the best I’ve experienced in the local area, especially as someone who has stayed in multiple other hotels locally. ||||The staff were attentive, friendly and so welcoming and I couldn’t fault any of them. The smell of fresh flowers in the reception area and the interior of the hotel was stunning!||||Our room was stunning with amazing views over pigeon park and seeing Birmingham from a height never experienced before. ||||The room was large, spacious and the bed and bathroom were great. The views were what really made our stay even better and the amenities in the room. ||||If you are ever in Birmingham do check out this hidden gem whether it be for dinner or a stay they will for sure take care of you. ||||We look forward to being welcomed by the Grand Hotel Team again shortly. ||||Thank you all once again

I had the pleasure of staying at the Grand Hotel in Birmingham for two nights ?️

What an incredible asset to Birmingham. The overall stay was amazing, the staff were so attentive and happy to help with anything.

The bedrooms were finished to a high degree, beautiful beds and linen, stunning furniture and finishing touches. The bathroom… oh my the bathroom was beautiful ? (practically living in the shower).

You had very amenity in the room, from a selection of tea/coffee, iron, hair dryer, mini bar that was stocked up, bath robes, slippers etc!

Honestly it was faultless and I cannot wait to go back ❤️

Excellent food and service|Great Recommendation for afternoon tea from Miah at the front desk. |We had an amazing, relaxing time at this lovely hotel. There was an extensive choice of teas and drinks. I had a nut allergy and I can say that they catered to my needs. The scones and cakes seem to be homemade.||Highly recommended

An absolutely beautiful hotel , such a lovely setting , the staircase is gorgeous, the bars and restaurants are also gorgeous.
My guests and myself had afternoon tea , which was so lovely , the food was delightful and the service was excellent.
It wasn't cheap but for a treat it was a lovely day out .
We passed by Issac's restaurant which looks amazing! We plan a return visit to taste the menu!
Looking forward to it .

Have stayed here before and have to say the hotel is really very good. Space, decor and general service are all excellent, it is really the best hotel in Birmingham.||Two small gripes, in a big bedroom it would be nice to have a big bed, the one we had seemed a standard double.||The bar - You need to book a place here even if you are staying. Last time we were squeezed in and the bar staff were fantastic, lots of eye contact, engaged and great service from the whole team. This time a single word response and then told to sit at the bar, this from I assume the lady bar manager. The team in the bar spent more time talking to each other than watching the room and serving guests. ||Bottom line if you want a table book in advance otherwise it's a lottery. Hopefully next time we visit we will get the better bar team.

Didn't stay in the hotel so can't make any comments about the rooms.

I did eat a 3 course menu for dinner and felt all courses were lacking in flavour or seasoning
