We have had the most wonderful three days at Millgate, it is an absolutely beautiful property. From the minute you enter the Georgian entrance, it is like a 'Country Living' set, it was so lovely to be surrounded by such exquisite furnishings. View over the garden is superb. Home was so comfortable and warm and this was so good as weather was very wet and cold. Room incredibly comfortable with a fabulous shower. Everything was perfect and loved the chocolates and sparkly for Valentines. I am a fussy food teacher and the breakfast is the best I have ever had, every bit perfect. It was a luxury to have such lovely fresh fruit. Chrissie and Steve were so helpful and friendly and we had some fabulous beer and food. We loved Newark and would recommend to anyone.

This B&B in a beautiful Goergian house has all the is required to make a stay in Newark enjoyable and more. The rooms are well appointed, with nice touches such as chocolates and fresh milk on request. We were in room three in a great view across the garden to the River Trent beyond. The en-suite, though small was excellent, with a good powerful shower and some nice toileteries. ||The breakfast was excellent. a selection of cereal and fresh fruit, followed by a very good vegetarian cooked breakfast and toast from a local bakers.||Millgate is very close to the town centre and all the local amenities of this great little town, but not to busy traffic wise.||Hight recommended, we'll be back.

We stayed at Mill Gate BnB for four wonderful nights. Chrissie and Steve are just great people to be with. Our every need was catered for and every little thing was looked after, Their home is wonderfully decorated and it was a total privilege that they had us as guests in their delightful,so very "English" home that is Grade 2 listed. It was also terrific that there was more to do in and around Newark than we had ever imagined and even after four days on the go we ran of time. Ohhh and Chrissie's BnB has safe on-street parking and its only a short walk and you're in the center of town so its a beaut central location. Both the BnB and Newark get high scores from us!

Great breakfast, largely locally sourced - excellent quality sausage/bacon and perfect poached eggs! Good selection of cereal/fruit, bread and preserves.||Excellent hosts, very useful to us with local information about bars, restaurants and live music - very friendly.||Room comfortable, excellent shower en suite. Near road but quiet enough. All very clean. Additional benefit of use of dining room as a reading room/board games (some provided). Great location for walking into Newark.

Wonderful B&B, we were made so welcome. Superbly furnished and the most comfortable, huge bed. The hospitality was excellent, nothing was too much trouble. The standard of the breakfast was outstanding with first class sausages being served. Have nothing but praise, excellent find. Thank you!

We booked the whole hotel almost a year in advance and Chrissie made this process so easy. Upon meeting them almost 11 months later to check over plans for our big day, both Chrissie and Steve made us feel at ease. Nothing was too much trouble. Upon arriving on Friday 21st June they helped us unload and left us to enjoy ourselves, present when ever we needed extra glasses, teas or coffees. Breakfast on the morning of our wedding was a feast to set us for the day – with everything you could want on a full English breakfast. The bride and her bridesmaids then retired upstairs and were plied with champagne while the groomsmen relaxed downstairs until our time to get dressed. We cannot thank you enough for making us welcome, and allowing the morning of our wedding to be so easy. Thank you for everything Chrissie and Steve.

My sister and I stayed at Millgate for two nights while we attended an event locally. Chrissie went to a lot of effort to thoughtfully cater for our vegan lifestyle. Rooms are clean, comfortable and nicely decorated. Amazing shower in the ensuite bathroom.

Very welcoming B and B, beautiful little touches throughout, fab breakfast, really great quality produce, we had the cooked breakfast. We loved our stay here. Warm, cozy, with lots of charm. Best to arrive after about 4 pm ish to get on street parking, which is free. Would definitely stay again.
