Stayed there for 1 night as we were attending a wedding elsewhere in Southwell. Great dialogue when booking the room and we were greeted by the owners, Simon and Tori. Room was great, very comfortable and the facilities were perfect. Breakfast was certainly a whole lot better than most hotels you stay in and full of lots of just what you need and want. Special mention must go to the Lemon Curd ... Tori's own family recipe (she has promised me a cut of the proceeds when it goes multi-national :-). Would I stay again? Yes . Would I recommend? Certainly yes. Would I advise Simon to remember his kids names? .... :-)) ... just ask him about it :-))

Tori and Simon are two of the nicest people to run a B&B in Britain! This was all booked for us as a present from our three kids. We only knew the address to arrive at. Boy, were we surprised by 1) the B&B and 2) the town itself! I don't think we knew anything about Southwell prior to arrival. If you want to play along do the same. We'd recommend this B&B highly. It's a bedroom and a bathroom but the comfort, the inviting biscuits and hot drinks, and the breakfast, ah! Well worth the journey! Simon was so hospitable and served us personally. We soon learned a lot about each other while eating such a marvellous breakfast! Ask Tori for the Lemon Curd recipe! We were so pleased our daughter's partner booked this for us. We were so relaxed for walking around the town and surrounding area.

Booked this delightful B &B last minute and what an excellent choice! 5 minutes by car to the racecourse and right next to the town which is wonderful.|Everything about Porphyry House is just perfect. From the luxury toiletries in the bathroom to the chocolate/biscuits and tea and coffee in the room. Beautiful bed linen and comfy bed. Tori made us feel so welcome and the breakfast is just amazing!! Fresh coffee, fresh juice, greek yoghurt, berries, cheeses and a selection of meats. Just perfect in every way and immaculately clean! See you next year Tori xx

Our visit was a first rate experience - charming and welcoming hosts, a beautifully decorated bedroom and bathroom and only a few minutes walk from the centre of Southwell. And the breakfast - the picture on the site understates the range and quality of food on offer - including home made lemon curd. It was generous to a fault and we only wish that we had had the appetites to do it full justice! The house is quiet and you can come and go as you please as there is a separate entrance to the room. The room is also very accessible with only a small step up from the parking area outside. This is a B&B of an extremely high standard and we will certainly return

Absolutely gorgeous B&B and the Simon & Tori make you feel so welcome! The room, private bathroom and private garden area are beautiful. Everything from service to the presentation is done to the Nth degree! The breakfast is beyond anything you would get in a 5star hotel, a real treat! ||||The location is great, Southwell has lots of great pubs and bars and is a 5/10 min walk away from the B&B. A 2 minute walk there is an M&S food on a petrol station which is really handy! ||||Couldn't recommend this place more. ||||Thank you very much!!

We stayed for one night whilst we attended a wedding in Southwell. We had a very warm greeting from Simon and he was very helpful in pointing us in the right direction for where we needed to go. ||The accommodation was fantastic. The room looks amazing and was very peaceful. ||Breakfast is something to really look forward to. I will say no more,you’ll just have to stay to experience it. ||Thank you both again.

We shall find an excuse to revisit Southwell and stay in Porphyry House! The quality of the accommodation was quite superb from the bed linen and towels right though to the excellent choices at breakfast. Simon and Tori made us feel quite comfortable and welcome without being intrusive. Thank you!

First time at Porphyry House. Comfortable and beautiful accommodation, just a few minutes walk from the town centre. Breakfast was amazing. Tori and Simon are friendly, welcoming and delightful hosts. A wonderful place to stay!
