Stopped here for a quick refuel on a 50 mile tootle on the bike from South Shields today (14/5/23).Great hotdog! Fantastic hot chocolate! Great value too given the market place location. Most importantly the service was so very helpful and polite (including topping up my bike bottle!). I shall return!!!

This is by far the best cafe and sandwich place in Durham. The menu is full of variety, with very wholesome options and anything for those looking for something more indulgent to very healthy sandwiches that you can get with seedy brown bread and loads of protein of your choice (chicken) and veggies. The staff are lovely and always happy to let you customise your own toastie sandwich or salad. The coffees are delicious although expensive, however this is the case for coffee everywhere. There is limited seating at both branches and it can get pretty busy, plus the opening hours are limited as it shuts shortly after lunch, however this is my go-to place. Better service and product more cheaper than competitors like Chapters, Starbucks, flat white etc. The loyalty cards are great too. My favourite part is the staff.... on Friday I was made another sandwich for free because one of them felt that too much cheese fell out of my first one into the toasting machine and he felt it wasn't up to standard! Always a pleasure eating here.
