My mistake not realising that this pub doesn't do any food at all. My 1st room was OK, but I struggled to connect to the WiFi. O then had to move rooms. This room was ok, but I couldn't get any hot water to the wash hand basin & the tv was defective. In this room I couldn't connect to the WiFi at all.

The pub was quite tatty & just seemed to be a noisy, locals pub.

I wouldn't be able to recommend this place.

As well as a hotel, it also allows for hosting parties and wedding reception.

I recently held my party at The Dorrington on the 10th May 2025 evening and found the space to be lovely. The lady at the bar was especially helpful and attentive to my needs, which I really appreciated.

As part of the package, I was informed that a DJ would be provided and included by the venue. I was also told that I could submit a playlist to ensure my preferred music was played during the event, which I did well in advance. Unfortunately, on the night of the party, I was extremely disappointed. It appeared that the DJ was struggling and was not following the playlist as agreed. I was later told there was no internet access, and much later told by the DJ that the music system was not capable of connecting to the internet.

This impacted the overall experience, as neither I nor my guests felt the music met expectations. I would strongly advise management to consider upgrading their sound system to allow for Bluetooth connectivity and access to streaming services, to better accommodate personalised playlists.

Additionally, the venue is advertised as having a capacity of 230 people. It would be helpful to clarify whether this refers to standing, seated, or a mix of both. For events hosting more than 50 guests, I also recommend providing additional seating or having more flexible furniture options available.

I hope management takes this feedback constructively and considers making these improvements for future events.

We were due to stay overnight but thankfully had to return home. Entrance to the rooms was via a dingy doorway full of discarded cigarette ends. The room was filthy nowhere to hang clothes and the bathroom/toilet wasn’t much better. All in all we lasted 15 minutes there and due to a phone call had to return back to our home.

Staff are nice just everyone else only had 2 pints in there and I poured my second one down drain n left just not worth it

Where do I start. Well, we walked into a very dingy bar, where 4 people were drinking, talking very loudly and spitting out beer onto the floor. The floor was really dirty.
We were then taken to our room, where the entrance was filthy with daddy long legs in all corners. The door of our room wasn't very secure. It had a big gap down it, the drawers in the room were broken, and there was mould on the bathroom ceiling and tiles. The windows were also filthy. There was one rail to hang clothes.

2 good points were that the guy who took us to our room was very polite. Also he bedding was very clean. We stayed about 20 minutes and then just left! I wouldn't recommend this place.

Arrived at bar and staff were very helpful and polite. Room was very tied and in need of some deep cleaning and a coat of paint especially the radiator which was very rusted all across the front. Cannot work out where they had taken the pictures of the hotel rooms and Areas. On also to stay if you like a bit of a bar atmosphere and noise from the elephants moving around at 02:20 in the morning above our room 3 for nearly an hour. Overall price was comparable for condition of the room.

I booked a party in the Trinity Suite function room for my special birthday. The room is a lovely size. The staff were amazing. They went out of their way to accommodate and to make my special birthday a huge success. The DJ was great too. The price was very reasonable. One small criticism they could do with somewhere to hang coats but highly recommend this venue. Well done to the staff 👏

We had a family room which was located upstairs.

Room was clean but no stair gate stopping the kids falling down them?

Also trip hazard going into the bathroom as the tiles are higher then the carpet and no rubber to stop you stubbing your toes.

There is a TV but shocking signal so no point having it on

Also only one side unit next to adult bed which was annoying and no side light on kids side of bedroom.

It was ok - bed was VERY soft which made us roll into the middle of the bed lol

But room was quite no outside noise and reasonable price (would be better once the above gets added to the room!!)
