What an incredible place, with the best hosts ever! I'd thoroughly recommend staying here... The setting is idyllic with the beautiful pond (brilliant fun to row around!) and fields to wander in overlooking the rolling Devon hills. So peaceful, watching the sheep and listening to the birds. The games room is excellent with plenty of books, dvds, jigsaws and games as well as table tennis, skittles and table football. I don't like swimming, but the pool was WARM so I happily went up there regularly and thoroughly enjoyed it! The accommodation itself was faultless... Brilliantly laid out with everything you could need. The beds were comfortable, the shower was great and my teenagers loved lighting and looking after the wood burner each evening. (The cottage was beautifully warm and cosy even in February.) Suzie and John constantly went out of their way to make us feel welcome and at home. They are very special people who are unbelievably friendly, kind and helpful. I'd absolutely recommend this place as a relaxing get away or for a large group to holiday together. The location is ideal if you're wanting to explore the area. Exeter is a lovely city nearby with plenty of shops and restaurants, as well as the Cathedral and beautiful Quay area. You can easily do day trips from Great Gutton to Dartmoor, Exmoor, the north and south Devon coasts, West Dorset (eg Lyme Regis) or North Cornwall (eg Padstow or Bude.) A wonderful place that I'd highly recommend!!

Stayed in Greatstone for a family celebration nearby. What an absolutely amazing place. Plenty of space for the extended family, spotlessly clean, a beautiful welcome with fresh eggs and scones, a fabulous host, wonderful surroundings and an indoor pool and games room. The hosts have thought of everything. We were all blown away and would thoroughly recommend Great Gatton. We will be back.

Eight of us stayed in the large barn what an absolutely beautiful place. So clean & had everything and more that you would need for a break away. They had left us scones cream & jam, apple juice & even fresh eggs 😊. There was a well equipped games room opposite our accommodation which we made great use of and they had a fantastic swimming pool. All in all it was a brilliant long weekend we spent there. Definitely will be making a return visit. Thank you Great Gutton

Just back from a week’s stay in the lovely Drake cottage. What can I say? From the hosts’ wonderfully warm welcome (cream tea, apple juice and fresh eggs on arrival) to their endless recommendations of places to go, this was just what we needed!||The kids (ages 11 and 7) were particularly taken with the lake, rope bridge and little rowing boat. We all absolutely loved the swimming pool, games room and (extensive) DVD library. The location is fantastic - we were able stay local for bike rides & walks or get in the car to visit the coast. I honestly can’t recommend Great Gutton enough. We will be back!

We had the most amazing stay here, we're a family of 5 and stayed in Drake Cottage, it was the perfect size for us. The kids had plenty to do, swimming everyday, going to the games room and enjoying pottering about while my husband and I got a real chance to relax, read a book or two, sit on the patio and re charge our batteries. I couldn't recommend this place more - really welcoming and hospitable.

We spent 5 nights in Yan's Barn which is just on the right as you enter this lovely farm, it's extremely comfortable, spacious for 2 people, very clean and a great place to stay. The owners do everything possible to make your stay wonderful, they are quick to communicate but also leave you in peace to enjoy the lovely surroundings. The amenities are excellent and the places you can drive to from Yan's Barn are endless - moors, countryside, towns and coast - it's all accessible. To top it all there is a well stocked farm shop about 6 minutes drive away. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend it.

Second visit this year, first in Yan’s Barn in April and this time in Rook Cottage. As soon as we arrived we felt at home and relaxed. Didn’t Even unpack before we headed up to the pool for our first swim.||||Suzi had left home made scones, jam and cream along with milk, apple juice made from the apples in the orchard and eggs provided by her 6 chickens.||||Catching up with Susi was like seeing a dear friend. She is brilliant, and not forgetting Pepper.||||Just deciding now when to return. We absolutely love Great Gutton.

Greatstone barn is a beautiful, spacious place to stay for a week. Isolated enough to really enjoy the quiet of the country side yet only a few minutes drive from the nearest town. Suzi is a great relaxed host and her welcome extras of Great Gutton apple juice, eggs, scones, clotted cream and jam went down a treat. The barn is really spacious and has everything you need for a really comfortable stay. The swimming pool is a great addition to the farm and being only 20 seconds walk from the barn makes it all the more likely to use it. The kitchen is very well stocked for all sorts of cooking, even baking if that's your thing. The main sitting area has a fabulous TV, a wood burning stove and plenty of comfortable seating. All of the bedrooms are ensuite and very comfortable. The games room located açross the yard is a real bonus, stocked with tonnes of DVD's, books, a table tennis table and a pool table. We really enjoyed our stay in Great Gutton Farm.
