Lovely hotel, was quiet and had a really relaxed vibe. The bed was the comfiest I have ever slept on! Thanks for a great stay! It was perfect distance from lots of places like Dawlish Warren. The manager was really friendly on my arrival, and I had no issues whatsoever. Great stay at a fantastic price

Very worrying attitude at this hotel.||I had a single room 206 that was ok but very hot on a summers day and apparently no air con. Went to have a shower - touched the little lever on the control panel and the whole dial sprang apart on the floor - so no shower. The next day no sign of reception and not answering phone. Tried when home to contact cust. service but they just send you around in circles and dont want to respond. Keep telling you to phone and wont use email. I suggested a partial refund and no response by email. The reception guy very kurt and abrupt. I stayed here because it was convenient but not sure I would again - also restaurant and bar closed.......Please read the hotel response - this will illustrate to all potential customers how untrustworthy the management are. Instead of apologising they are now threatening me. Also I should add there was no information regarding air con etc etc. Now reading some of the other bad reviews its interesting to note Booking.Com were thinking of deleting this Hotel due to fraud. Also the excuse that the restaurant and bar are closed for refurb is interesting bearing in mind it was the same comment 3yrs ago. Terrible company - avoid at all cos

Unfortunately, our stay at this hotel was far from pleasant. The most concerning issue was the showerhead, which had visible fungus/mould growing on it—a clear sign of poor maintenance and a serious hygiene concern. It’s unacceptable for any accommodation, let alone a hotel, to overlook basic cleanliness like this.

The overall cleanliness of the bathroom felt neglected, making it hard to feel comfortable using the facilities. We expected a certain standard of hygiene and care, and this was a real letdown.

I hope the management takes this feedback seriously and addresses the issue, as no guest should have to experience this. Would not recommend staying here until significant improvements are made.

The staff is vi unprofessional. Vi rude . They never available at reception. Now due to wrong room given to me they blamed it to me that you should have call to us and bla bla . I have never experienced such a bad service anywhere in world.
The only thing why i book is that are cheaper in market. But i tell you what you have paid for this service , so i understand.

Stayed here a few times now and going back on Sunday for the night , such a lovely and great hotel , the rooms are lovely and clean and spacious the staff are friendly and always welcome us back with open arms , they always accommodate us with late check out / early check in with no cost even though we’re willing to pay , always calls us and ask what time we’re arriving so they can make sure our room is already for us , really good security on the rooms and front door aswell and female and male toilets in the hotel as well as your own toilet in your room , lovely tv and air conditioning beds are really comfy and nice aswell
I’ll always come back to this hotel when visiting near by I won’t stay anywhere else , the money is so good for it aswell.

I arrived at 3:00 and I was able to check in straight away, I was shown my room and informed about everything I needed for my stay. The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was spacious and clean, with TV, kettle, tea, coffee, etc. I found the room to be very quiet, considering how close it is to a busy road I expected some noise. There was free parking. I would return to this hotel.

Fabulous budget hotel! Friendly manager, newly refurbished (just one or two floor coverings awaiting replacement once all the other works are finished), extremely clean, very comfortable bed, hot shower with soft fluffy towels, new air conditioning units recently installed in the rooms. Despite reading mixed reviews on TripAdvisor, I booked due to the price, free parking (just leave registration number at Reception) and easy on-site EV charging and had no complaints at all. No food available currently (except possibly breakfast by prior arrangement), but there’s a Shell garage close by for sandwiches and snacks. The EV chargers are tethered InstaVolt fast chargers (see ZapMap), so the cost per kWh is extremely high. There’s no socket to plug in a Type 2 cable for older EV cars, but these are available at the next hotel up the road, subject to parking restrictions.

We were a bit worried about the negative reviews while booking Gisson for a night stay. When we arrived, the door was locked. But we could call the reception/ the number written on the door to get inside. We were greated by a very happy and friendly guy and he took us to the room. We could understand that the room was renovated. The hotel was accomodative of out requests and gave us a big family room for a bed sharing child.
We did experience most of what other reviews said like floor panels not perfectly set, little bit of spider webs, cracks on the ceiling, curtains not perfectly fit ( i used some pins to stick them togethor), toilet not flushing completely, but we would never complain as we got more that what we expected for a night's stay.There was hot water on the taps, neat toilet, good bed and pillow, Smart TV, free wifi, aircon, fan
and a good location. Nothing to complain for the money we paid and for the quick response and consideration that the hotel provided
