Very tired and maintenance is shocking. We were placed in a tiny room (112) and were immediately hit by a damp stench which persisted throughout our two day stay. The cause became obvious - if you spent any more than 2 minutes in the shower, the shower tray would overflow. I thought I would report it upon checkout but the ignorant female staff member just said “room number?” And we placed our key down. Not a good morning, how was your stay or similar. Not rude necessarily, just completely uncaring and no interest in the quality of your stay. ||A friend was provided with not one but two wrong rooms and ended up driving home at 1am. The staff really don’t care - if they do, they need to work much harder at expressing that care.||Our room was smelly, dated and not really fit for three people to have a comfortable stay. Breakfast quality was average - not terrible. Again, the staff there are pretty indifferent about service and not warm in their welcome. ||They don’t service rooms unless you ask - it really, really shows. ||The service and quality of product in the bar is much better. Food and service we received there was decent. ||Below average stay overall. Alright if you’re on a £25 coach trip, at a push.

This hotel proved to be a wonderful choice during a visit to my grandmother in the hospital. I'd considered a few other options in the area, and I'm glad I ultimately decided to stay here.

The standout feature was undoubtedly the exceptional staff. Their cheerful and engaging personalities truly brightened my stay; they were always ready with a friendly chat, a genuine smile, and even a lighthearted joke, which was a welcome lift.

Beyond the warm welcome, the hotel itself offered a lovely selection of shared sitting rooms. The comfortable furniture provided a relaxing space to unwind. In the mornings, the breakfast was a fantastic value, and I particularly enjoyed the delicious bacon – a real treat!

I enjoyed my few days at the Dukes Head. I was travelling with a coach party and the check-in process has to be the smoothest I’ve ever experienced. Every guest was handed an envelope containing their room key, some information about the hotel and a local map. Our bags were taken to our rooms very efficiently and everyone was very friendly and welcoming.|All the staff I came across were pleasant and helpful. The breakfasts were good with plenty of choice. The evening meal, bearing in mind that two coach parties were being fed at the same time, were a bit hit and miss but generally enjoyable. |This hotel far exceeded my expectations and I would definitely return if I were to travel to Kings Lynn again.

Lovely clean room, fast check in, very friendly staff. I was with a coach party for 2 nichts half board, The rooms were spotlessly clean, beds comfy, huge modern walk in shower in a lovely bathroom. The evening meal could have baan better but the breakfasts were amazing, I couldnt fault them, it was a bit noisy in the evening with music from various venues but stopped at midnight. Overall a very pleasant stay.

Upon arrival at the Dukes Head, we parked in the hotel car park at the rear and carried our cases to the reception. We waited here for a few minutes to check in behind another couple. When it was our turn the reception member asked if we had parked in the hotel car park. We replied we had and she informed us that there was now a charge and it would be £15 per night but should we leave the car park that evening, which we were, they could not promise a place on our return as it was a first come first served policy!!. moreover if we had been more than 15 mins since leaving our car in the car park between booking in , we would be fined. Really not a welcome we had expected or appreciated. There was nothing in the booking confirmation that mentioned the charge. We really felt disgruntled and aggrieved at the start of our break.||We took a drink in the lounge area the following day and all we heard was unhappy people that were booking in and disgusted at the additional charge of car park. This policy is upsetting all customers. I cannot imagine what it is like for the poor reception staff having to put up with all the animosity this decision is causing.||We climbed the one flight to our room and noticed how shabby the stairs and walls looked. There was a bubbling plaster stain opposite our door which looked damage from a leak. The room was extremely tired and the bathroom needed a through clean around the shower and door. You can imagine our reaction to a notice informing us the room would not be serviced unless a stay was over for 5 days ( can only imagine what the Guests felt at 5 days parking charge!)||The dinner menu had as many dishes not available as there were available, so we choose a pie, certainly not my first choice, only for the very nice waitress, to apologize and say the pie would be around 20-30 mins before she could bring it to the table. It was very nice when we did get it.||The breakfast was plentiful and well cooked and the communal areas were very smart and comfortable . || We have stayed in The Dukes Head before and been very very pleased with the experience but I am so sorry and disappointed to say I probably would not do so again.

I stayed here with a group of female friends for a nice chilled mini break. The staff here were all so helpful and also efficient. The barman in particular, Ashley, was so good to us and nothing was too much trouble. He made us feel very welcome and even facilitated a private function area for us for the afternoon. The manger too was really good to us and again, checked in with us that all was as we needed. Thank you. Would absolutely return and recommend to others.

We had a great overnight stay at The Duke's Head, to be ready for the GEAR race the next morning. Claire on Reception found a Z-bed for our daughter - many thanks Claire, you went above and beyond!! It's a beautiful, old hotel with tons of history, and in the perfect spot for the GEAR race. Comfortable beds and large bathroom and a coffee machine in the room. Friendly staff. Perfect.

Very good oldy worldly Hotel in king’s Lynn, great location in the centre of Kings Lynn, lovely rooms nice bar, bit pricey but then most hotels are. We had a lovely Sunday roast Lunch for £12.95 which was excellent. However their breakfast peice at £12.50 per person is very expensive (it’s £15 if you don’t book prior to the day).|There is a Wetherspoons 200 yards in away, where my wife and I had a tradional breakfast at and refillable coffee each for £12.70 total cost for both of us that was very good. Overall very good hotel, but too expensive for breakfast in my opinion.
