Whilst our food was really nice and the staff were very pleasant, the service was quite slow and a little haphazard. We were offered water for the table which was a nice touch as it was quite a warm evening, but after we received our meal that seemed to be the end of contact, we finally asked for the dessert menu and the waitress then arrived with the bill so we asked again, having looked at the menu and hearing other guests have to repeatedly ask for their drinks/an extra plate or condiments we decided to pay and leave.

Pity after 30mins walk this morning. In 30 Deg heat from the first day of our holiday in Norfolk that the chef didn't want to serve us breakfast at 0946. The web site says until 11am . Very disappointing start. Very nice young lady on reception who offered apologies. Currently you are in our recommended places from the stylish cottage we are staying in. Suggest you change the web site and consider getting a different chef.

A really classy place. Great food, immaculate and beautiful room and exceptional service. I was just on a walking trip so not particularly looking for luxury, but when you get it you just have to hold up your hands and say that was great😀

Went to the King William for food only. Have been a few times over the past few years and also stayed. Lovely restaurant, pleasant staff. The menu let it down. Not much choice on the Monday evening menu. The King prawn and chorizo starter wasn't very good for ten pounds. The chorizo consisted of small black bits Wasnt offered a finger bowl which we should have had as had to shell the king prawns. Was going to have the sea trout only to be told it was off. The hake was a decent substitute. Sausage and mash was good but the sirloin steak is a no no!! For £30 you would expect better. It was tough and we had to ask for a steak knife. Total rip off. A bottle of red wine at £34 you would expect to be something special. It was not. There is a 10% service charge on the bill too. Won't be going back.

They advertise takeaway fish and chips from 4:30 to 8:30 pm Monday to Friday.

We go in at 7:15 pm today (Thursday). We ask for fish and chips to take-away.

They say it will be at least an hour.

Can't say that is outwith the advertised times. Can say it left a bad taste in our mouths as we walked away. So bad we decided to go elsewhere for our (sit-down) meals on Friday and Saturday. A bit further to drive. A lot better feeling that they should reap what they sow.

We had a one night stay on a Sunday deal, staff were friendly and polite, we had the superior room, good size with lovely furnishings and the usual coffee and tea facilities, very comfortable bed for a good night's sleep, bathroom good size, excellent shower with luxury fluffy white towels.
The restaurant was bright and colourful, service and the 2 course meal was OK.
King William 1V is located in a lovely area to explore.

Got to say a very nice public house
But only one to go to in the whole pub
Not a manager in sight so very poor
Poor girl had to deal with bookings drinks serve and clear tables
I’m amazed that the young girl could cope although having a nervous breakdown as she tried to for fill all her duties.
The service was as expected although the young lady coped very well to be fair , the only aid she had was a chef who was reluctant to leave the kitchen when we complained about the description of the pie of the day and its contents.
Who Ever owns this establishment should be ashamed of themselves leaving 1 young lady to combat all the issues on her own, we had people waiting for both food and drinks through out the afternoon for long periods of time, this also occurred yesterday so not a one off I’m afraid.
The management should be brought to the fore as a really poor performance overall, the only good thing was the food was half decent otherwise the review would be more brutal than already expressed .
Ps the the young lady on shift was amazing and coped really well and deserves a pay rise for putting up with such bad managemen
