Reviewing on behalf of my wife - Having had a really nice midweek lunch at The Cakery, I chose it again for a Saturday lunch with a couple of friends who'd never visited West Vale before.
Unfortunately, my second visit was very underwhelming in comparison to the first. It seemed the staff were more interested in getting quantity through the door, rather than providing quality. Whilst the flat-breads were lovely, they were served with frozen chips that either hadn't been cooked properly, or had been sat for some time before serving. I noticed another table where everyone had left their chips. We really expected better quality for the price.
The disappointing mains meant we didn't hang around for cake/pudding and I don't think I'll be back sadly.

Finally an excellent flat white!! The best coffee I’ve had in a long time - so many coffee shops don’t know how to make it properly. Also had a delicious bowl of granola. The cakes looked amazing, wish I’d left room for one! Lovely cafe with great atmosphere and super friendly staff. Will definitely be back!

Been here before for breakfast and it was decent. Just been for lunch and I was pretty disappointed, had the chicken Caesar burger with spiced fries. For £14 it was terrible in every way! Tiny frozen piece of chicken little lettuce and I suppose it was Caesar sauce who knows it didn’t taste of Caesar. The Portion of fries was tiny as well so for £14 I expect a good decent size burger like I’ve had elsewhere for same price.
I took a piece of carrot cake home as well and that again was £4.50 and it was as dry as 🦴!!!
Won’t be going again better places with better quality of food for the price in my opinion. Sorry for the bad review but you need to be told.

Amazing breakfast, I had the special of pulled pork eggs Benedict and it was delicious. My partner had the pancakes and they were so fluffy and amazing. The coffee here is also really tasty! Great value for money too.

Shocking service... We walked in and stood at the 'wait here to be seated' sign, we were looked at and ignored by numerous staff. I eventually stopped a staff member and asked for a table. We were seated and then waited 20 minutes at our table and no one came, during this time other people had entered, been seated, and their orders taken. I had to then ask a member of staff walking by for some service, they looked at me like I had asked for too much. Therefore, we got up and walked out. We went to the next cafe in the village and got welcomed with a smile and great service. Just like I was expecting from 'The Cakery'... Disappointing.
