Absolutely one of the best places I have stayed. The owner is fabulous, helpful and knowledgeable. When we arrived we felt like royalty. Offering to help with bag, walk us through our accommodation with complimentary robes and slippers. Explained all the outdoor areas and walks near by. Bring us a exquisite blanket for the lawn. Told the history of the lodge as they have restored it to his period and wonderful detail of painters, owners and interesting facts. On the Morning of my birthday they had arranged flowers on the table, strawberries and cherries dipped in chocolate with a personalised message pipped in chocolate and balloons. The breakfast was wonderful, tasty and they even accommodated my partner’s food choice of eating no pork. The atmosphere in the lodge is calm, relaxing and inviting, with lovely soft piano playing and a lovely seating areas throughout the house and gardens. Our room was incredible with four poster bed and a bathroom to die for. I didn’t want to leave.... I will be returning and recommend Welton lodge as a must stay. You will not regret it.

This was the final night of a cycling holiday, and I am so pleased we got to spend it at the Welton Lodge. What an incredible place - we were made to feel really welcome, our room was outstanding (especially the bathroom which was just incredible and very welcome after a soaking wet day of cycling) and breakfast was superb. If you are looking for somewhere to stay in this area, this must be very hard to beat.

We stayed to celebrate our 30th Wedding Anniversary and a birthday so was looking forward to a special night, we were not disappointed. Our hosts have perfected the whole experience, from arrival when we were presented with an information pack and a brief verbal history of the Lodge, which was very interesting and even given the size of house, presented a loving family home.||We were escorted to our room the four-poster room, which is spacious, beautifully decorated and well equipped. My wife was very impressed with the bathroom. They had thoughtfully left cards and a gift to recognise our occasions too, one of many touches which when added together blow away chain hotels.||The house is well maintained, set in a large beautifully pampered garden and a picturesque village.||After an undisturbed and comfortable night, we had a lovely presented hearty full English breakfast, cooked to order.||I cannot say enough positive words about this accommodation and would recommend to anyone visiting the area.||I would recommend the Green Dragon too, which we dined with on the evening. A short walk from the Lodge with a great food menu and drinks.||

Beautifully and authentically restored period lodge. Original 17th century feel with modern amenities. Netflix and iPlayer in the bedrooms, lovely en-suite bathroom. We had the top floor Butler and Maids Suite. Two double bedrooms, a kitchen and living room. Amazing value for money at only £88 at the mid week rate. Feels like it should be double the price. Breakfast was cooked to order and delicious. Can’t recommend this place highly enough!

We found a hidden gem with this place. We stayed in the Maid and Butlers Suite for our daughters birthday. We were really surprised as her bedroom had been decorated with balloons and a banner! This shows true customer service and care for the guests. Breakfast is amazing. The hotel is so full of character and the room is perfect, right down to the little touches like a bath bomb for the roll top bath. Stay here, you will love it. We will be back!!!!

Beautiful accommodation. We stayed in the four poster room. Large room with plenty of storage room. The bathroom is large with a slipper bath and a large shower. Good quality breakfast with several options. The Lodge is set in large gardens and the village is very picturesque.

Quite simply the best place to stay in East Yorkshire! Five-star luxury every step of the way. Friendly host, stunning historical building, comfortable bed, lashings of hot water in a magnificent bathroom and delicious food. Unfortunately, the bad weather meant we didn’t spend time in the stunning garden, but we enjoyed the local pub (Green Dragon) and church (beautiful Edward Burne-Jones stain glass windows for pre-Raphaelite fans). We can’t wait to return.

We had a family wedding in the village and fortunately my sister mentioned Welton Lodge and suggested we stay there. Our stay was absolutely fantastic we were greeted by Brendan on arrival and straight away could see what a fantastic house we were staying at. Breakfast was cooked to order and the suite we had was stunning. I would highly recommend Welton lodge , thank you for such a fantastic stay Brendan ! Graham, Gaynor & Olivia
